MOD request: FMB sandbags block artillery

Jus a small request i hope.
Currently sandbag walls cannot be placed in front of artillery, the only way to "protect" field guns is to use the curved sandbag wall with the open end towards the barrel.

Would it be possible to MOD this so the artillery can fire through the object. Aircraft and vehicles can pass through anything from the objects list so I think it should be possible to allow shells to pass through.

Line of sight rules for these objects would probably somehow need to be removed or ignored.

This would be a great mod for mission builders.

That's not true. Aircraft and vehicles can't pass through any object from the objects list - the objects all have collision boxes. If they didn't, you wouldn't be able to destroy them.

Anyway, the solution to this is to make a new object in MAX of a sandbag wall and not give it a collision model. The downside is it will be immune to any damage, but artillery should be able to fire right through it.

must be just trains then that can pass trough objects, strange that. havent got the first clue how to make objects and add them, guess ill havta look into it

You don't need to make a new object. I raised mine 0.7m to stack them. Here's my text from my static.ini file:

Note the line in red. This can be changed to anything. If you want, you can lower the wall by putting a '-' in front of the height like this:

But if you raise them on your map will this have any effect on other plyers map or will they see them as defoult hight??
Ive been wondering for a long time why the artillery cant shoot when placed in most of the fortification stuff. seems nearly pointless to have them there exept as for eye candy..

Most artillery wont fire through sandbags, Anti Aircraft will but not Anti Tank or field canons.

If I dont want to stack them tho, and if i lower them they'll dissapear

perhaps a sandbag with a collision model that is lower or has no front.

No, all objects dont have collision boxes, because in my seaplane tests i can colllide with those platform blocks...

What platform blocks? And can you destroy them with bombs?

The sandbags do look odd if you arrange them wehre guns will fire. I've had to turn the open side toward enemy forces even for high mounted MGs that are well above them. I wonder if the hieght of the collision model can be reduced, or is it movable in increments low enough to do that.?
