have you installed the patch properly? when the installer for the patch asks you for the folder to install to you should point it to the Il2 main directory ie.

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 -

this would usually be the default, unless you have a 2nd hard drive. When you run the game, it will tell you in the bottom left corner what version you are on.

As a side note - almost any problem you are likely to have with IL2 will be covered already here by someone. So before posting a new thread I would suggest you make use of the search function - it has helped me out many times. It also means that people don't have to answer the same question multiple times, and so the information will all be in one place - instead of being spread out over many threads.
