IL-2 and Vista
#1

Dear All,
This is just to confirm what I already think.
I am currently running an XP64 bit machine. I have IL-2 1946 on the D:\ drive and windows XP64 on the C:\ drive.
I recently purchased OFF BH&H but have discovered that it does not like XP64, but will run on Vista64 bit. Now, if I upgrade to Windows Vista, will this affect my IL-2 installation at all?
Best regards,
Pike.

I was xp64 too and installed game in D:\Instala2\Ubisoft\IL-2 1946

I test, Format C: and Install Vista x64. Drivers, programs, etc.

Then I test run Ilfb.exe, and full functional, not loss Mods, Profiles, Controls, anythings. Game search in the registry and if not find anything, the game write data again. But not loss anything.
Create ilfb.exe shortcut in the desktop. Fully functional. Hope help.

PD: My game incredible but, with Vista more quality and perfomance. I swear.

Sorry my english.

I've tried to run IL2 in Windows 7 beta (64 bit) but only get 1 fps. No idea what's causing the problem but even the GUI is stuck at 1 fps as well.

Switch IL2 to DirectX and it'll run well, no compatibility modes or anything needed. OpenGL doesn't work on Win7, at least Win 7 + Ati, at the moment.

Thanks - that makes sence since I just ran IL2 from an install on my XP drive. I think I'll wait for some updated ATI drivers before I give it a go DirectX is just too ugly after the full glory of OpenGL. I'm only checking out Win 7 to see how my older games / existing hardware (i.e. TM Cougar) copes with 64 bit.
