OK this is weird???
The eventlog says that my Wingtip Smoke is toggling on and off constantly? What's really weird is I do not have a button or control set for wingtip smoke?
Anyone got a clue as to what's happening here?

Try and assign a key to it, and see what happens.
On my previous install, if I selected wingtip smoke, the smoke would appear for a moment - stop - appear again - stop - etc, etc....
I have no idea which mod caused it, so far on my new install all is well.... 8)

High guys, MLR (MISSION LOG READER) has this effect as its how it logs your flight etc....
If its installed i reccomend you uninstall it, because it tends to happen when you least expect it & it does cause issues....in my system anyway. This happened to me a long time ago when no mods existed.

Dang...I was sure it was the IL2 MLR
The site was down so I am unsure of how to uninstall it. It seemed I just unzipped it to IL2 Main folder so I just deleted it. No luck.
I'd appreciate any other ideas.
SHVAK, does it hurt anything? or does it just fill the eventlog.lst?

Good, if you have MLR then i can guarantee its that, so the cause has been identified.
Don't panic :wink:
Firstly, as you know deleting a folder is not the correct way of removing this kind of programs. Gladly, this programs have been made by very intelligent & great people in the community who always have a readme file & an UNINSTALLER. :wink:
1. Clic start, show programs, search list, find MLR & it should have an uninstaller.
or
2. Go into control panel, search list & find MLR in the list, click remove program.....that should do it.
or
3. REINSTALL, this will overrite any remains of the program you have, then find the uninstaller & remove.
Ref the issues i was having its very simple, this program is rumnning in the background & in my opinion it is slowing & causing you minor freezes when you least need it. If flying online, the situation is the same but worse, specially in coops. Some organised coos don't allow MLR as it can bring the server down if many pilots have it........again, my advice is to remove it!
I am not a tekie m8, in fact BBMalone is & lets hear what he has to say, my advice is basic to the point & in order to resolve your emediate issue, let us know how it went :wink:

The version I had simply unzipped to a folder of your choice. No matter what I did there was no way to fix it. I removed my Mods folder and Files folder and flew 4.08m unmodded and still it persisted.
It takes very little for me to re-install a copy. That's what I did and all is no good. thanks for your supreme effort!
