What CAN and CANNOT be changed for CRT=2 to still work?
#1

Version 1.1 enforces checkruntime and for those that want to enforce crt=2 for coops and online wars, may do so knowing everyone is using the same set of mods. Therefore, we strongly suggest to all users not add new mods or aircraft to this installation. If however you wish to add mods please make a separate copy of the game and add those items to the copied game.

Does this means if I add some explosion effects and mod sounds and A6M clear reticles, it will cause some problems?

Good question ... Having mods listed as "compatible" with CRT=2 settings would be helpful. Whether there needs to be a master list or not is up to AAA admins I guess (though it would be very useful for online event coordinators and server operators/hosts).

Whether a mod is -or is not- compatible with CRT=2 security could be displayed in each released mods' title thread by a simple means ... "+" for compatible, "-" for not compatible. For example, it's been proven to me that the QMB Plus mod is not compatible with CRT=2 security settings (for whatever reason, but it bugs me). Editing the QMB PLus thread to something like "[MOD-] QMBPlus 1.1" would provide the necessary indication as to whether it's compatible.

Slightly off topic... (and I haven't yet browsed/searched to see if the following is being done here) ... are there plans to create a utility to allow switching on/off mods through a graphical user interface, including a single "Stock UI 1.1" button that will deactivate all non-stock UI 1.1 mods? I know a few folks interested in mods use are looking at various different ideas to accomplish this. Everything from copying in/out entire MODS and FILES folders; renaming multiple copies of the files/MODS folders; or creating user profiles that will enable or disable individual mods.

I think, but do not know for sure, that any mod added that is not a part of UI 1.1 will keep you out of a Check runtime server.

It seems that the main intent of 1.1 is to make a standard online version for those worried about cheaters and such.

I guess when a new official mod is released from this point on, it will be 1.1 compliant and marked as such.

One non 1.1 mod that I have not been able to get working with 1.1 is the Shipmod, I got it to show in the FMB but it wiped all the 1.1 new planes out of the game for some reason.

Good thing I backed up the STD folder. Smile

+1 on what sandman said. cant really input anything though as I have no idea how crt=2 even works.
But i would love to know what mods will effect my online playing.

So far i havent even downloaded UI1.1, Im still using UI1.0 with my own additions. It seems to work fine online so I am hesitant to change it.
