I usually have this problem when trying to connect to a computer that is hosting an IL2 game: when I go in multyplayer, join server, type thr ip number ,I receive a timeout error. It happens only when playing IL2; if I use CFS3 i.e., everything works fine.
the problem occurs also when Windows Firewall is disabled.
does anyone have an idea on how to fix this problem?

Can other people connect to the server? If the person hosting doesn't have port 21000 forwarded to his pc on his/her router then they can host but nobody will be able to connect.
As a member of the same Spugna's flight group I can say that He can join the game with Hyperlobby even though when we end a session we must restart HL to let him join another one, but He was never been able to connect via IP, we all made many and many trials but no one succeeded.
Some other group members had the same problem but in some ways at the end join the game but not Spugna, please note that the problem seems to be related to the dsl connection as the ones, like me, who still rely on dial-up never got that problem.
Moreover, in one occasion Spugna was hosting TeamSpeak even though all the previous attempts to host the game failed
