New heavy bomber campaign: Camel Pond
#1

The Camel Pond Raids is a 14 mission B-24 Liberator heavy bomber campaign for IL-2 1946 (modded with RedFox59's ItalyAfricaGreece map).

Download from M4T:http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=...ils&id=141

This campaign is based on the operations of the USAF 376th Bomber Group out of Tunisia in the summer of 1943. Your home base is in Tunisia, and you will be attacking targets in Sicily, Italy, and Greece. Some of these missions take a long time to fly, though not nearly as long as they took the pilots of the 376th.

Prerequisites
Requires IL-2 1946 4.09m. To run this campaign, you must have the Italy-Africa-Greece map installed: (The link is inoperative)

A recommendation
To make the most of this campaign, you will probably want to use the B-24

I seem to be missing a 'Regiment' required for this Campaign, 126Squadron.

Any ideas where I can get it?

Unfortunately, I have the same problem.

Is there an additional mod we have to download in order to get 126 Squadron or do we have to edit the .mis files and replace 126 Squadron with a Squadron which is available with our installaton?

Yep, I'm sorry, I've got the same problem during loading the 1st mission.
Is there something we can do to fly your promising campaign?

========================== Edit ====================================

Also it seems your campaign is at mission4today in the wrong section. I found it at "Kategorie Campaigns (DGEN)", but it is a static campaign, or isn't it?

I must have some squadron mod installed that I have forgotten about. I will sort it out and post an update. I will also see if I can get it moved to the proper section at M4T.

Thanks to all for letting me know about the problems.

I will post a notice here when I have it corrected.

I believe I have it corrected now. I was using the Nations and Squardons mod; you could install that but it really isn't required for this campaign. The correction is ready for download at M4T.

I apologize again for the inconvenience. I hope the campaign makes up for your trouble.

Thank you for the quick fix vonofterdingen!

I've flew the 1st mission, but unfortunately the Spitfires have russian markings and the radio traffic is also in russian language.
Should this be right?

Just load the .mis files into the Full Mission Builder and edit the Spitfire Flights nation to UK or to an RAF Squadron on the properties tab. You also can assign new skins on the individual plane tabs.

As you guessed, the Sptfires should have British markings. The ramifications of the nations ansd squadrons mod were larger than I realized. I have reset the Spitfire squads and posted the fix at M4T. For some reason, only the Spitfires were affected.

I've been quite sour with IL2 because all these fantastic bombers are now flyable and those stupid DCG and DGEN things are impossible to figure out or run like rubbish and are generally way beyond me.

However, campaigns I can do. Thanks ever so much for your work on these missions. I've only flown a couple so far and I should perhaps do a little bit of reading up on the bombsight because at the moment my bombs land about 100yards before they ought to be. Thank goodness for bomb loads with multiple drops.

I've never really done much with the Liberator. I've been kind-of a Boeing person to date but this is cool and I'm looking forward to being bounced by a load of fighters to see just how much of a pounding it will really take.

Thanks again peeps,

Rob
