Hi!
I find that if you take a picture of your screen with a digital camera
the result is more realistic than making captures.
The result has less definition, but I think that it contributes to add realism.
Here an example, taken using the fantastic Can_Channel map:

Actually, I agree with you, it works under certain conditions and only if you want something
that looks like old photos of WWII;
I doubt it's not good if you want to do a background or a wallpaper!
