N1K1 Shiden

could it be possible to make a mod for both versions of the N1K1 "Shiden"
why ?

the plane is already in the sound mod yes i know but there is a bug, there is no supercharger and you can't modify mixture too in both N1K1 and... N1K2 since sound mod installed

try it and you will see mixture and supercharger are not working well
i know the sound mod do this because if you try with the CRT2 sound mod version, everything is functionnal...

the idea is to make a separate mod like the russian U2 with a D3A rear gunner...

who can do that ?
sorry for my english

Supercharger works in CRT=2 version becouse it use DB605 preset and this sound from BF109...

Most planes in game have supercharger, but it's not mean what they all have whistle.

I guess I should have used this thread instead of starting a new one. Sorry! I deleted the other thread that I started.

SG2_Wasy, I don't understand your post.

There is an inconsistency between 4.08m with and without mods for the N1K2-Ja. The George has a supercharger with 4.08m standard whereas the supercharger has been removed from the N1K2-Ja when using mods with 4.08m.

Is there any way to rectify this?

Ok i understand))
Hmm......I check my sfx 0.9 - all works fine.
Possible some bug in the other mods. Try make single on/off and find in what mod this bug works.

About N1K1 ..... use this like it exist. May be someday.......

It would be really, really great if you can fix it! Thank you in advance. Big Grin

I was just rereading this and think I misunderstood before.

So if I understand correctly, you have suggested a trial and error approach to check which mod causes this. How do I make a single on/off? Is this purely sound related? What is a sfx 0.9?

Thanks in advance.

dogberry, to disable a single mod, look for it's folder within your mods folder (in the game's main folder) and rename the folder with a minus sign preceding the folder's original name.
For example, you would rename "Avala_Planeshine" to read "-Avala_planeshine". This causes the game not to load the contents of the folder in question, thus disabling the mod without actually removing it.

Thank you Murph. I suppose sfx means sound effects and 0.9 means 4.09 - I guess I've been a bit thick thank you for putting up with my stupidity.

I will report back if I learn something. Thanks again.

I went to go about removing mods one by one to see which mod is affecting the N1K2 supercharger. I started with the Il2 Version Switcher set to 4.08 Mod with 6DOF. I blocked the entire MOD folder by renaming it -MOD. This removed many mods (splash screen, A5M to name a few) however not only did I find that the N1K2 still had no supercharger but the N1K1-J and N1K1-Ja are still flyable! I tried this with 4.09b1 and got the same results. Whatever the cause, it is located in il2fb.exe or files.SFS

Is there a way to fix the N1K2-Ja and keep all the great 4.08m mods?

Still no luck. Sad

What causes the N1K mods to be part of the files.SFS and not separate like the other planes (B29, B17 etc)? Can the N1K1 mods be separated so that the N1K2-Ja supercharger works? The supercharger does not work with 4.08m or 4.09b1m. I tested this using both unified installer version 1.0 and unified installer version 1.1(patched).

Any help on this?

It's me again  I am sorry to be a nuisance!

I am under the impression that the flight model of airplanes that come with IL2 (not new planes) are supposed to remain unchanged. But the supercharger for the N1K2-Ja has been removed. Basically, this changes the flight model!

I have tracked down the issue to either the il2fb.exe or the files.SFS file. Is there anyone working on a fix for this?

Well, any mod that comes from here, is not allowed to edit stock FM's... have you got any mods (ie new aircraft) that are not approved by AAA (read, off site)?

I only use the unified installer. No other mods. Not even beta mods here at AAA. I am certain many other people have this same problem. This is not unique to me.

EDIT: Does anyone using stock UI1.1(patched) have a supercharger on the N1K2-Ja? Maybe I should download the UI again. But I have the same problem with UI 1.0 and UI 1.1 and UI 1.1(patched).

I found the file that breaks the supercharger gear setting and mixture setting in N1K2:
It's the buttons file in files/gui/game. If I disable the buttons file and MODS folder so that the game starts, the supercharger and mixture works in all 3 versions that are flyable (the files that make the N1K1-J and N1K1-Ja flyable are some of the hashed files in files-folder). If I then enable the buttons file and leave MODS folder disabled, the supercharger and mixture are gone and won't appear if I disable all other files in files folder.

I have the original UI1.1 buttons file and I've only added some mods in the MODS folder on top of UI1.1. Thus some of the admins that are allowed to edit the official AAA buttons file has made a mistake that changes the engine model of the engine in N1K1-J, N1K1-Ja and N1K2-Ja.

You found the cause! This is terrific news. Thank you Birdman.

I am new to the mods but am enjoying them very much. I'd like to keep the mods and have the stock planes with their stock settings.

Admins, I have absolutely no idea what is entailed in changing the buttons file. May I humbly request the N1K2-Ja be put back to its original state?
