Very pretty skins! I'm surprised they painted a plane with a red nose like that considering it was quite common in the VVS...

Any particular reason why these colours were chosen?

Yes Messer, please fix the problem. I would preety much like to download the skins, and enlarge the Royal Bulgarian airforce .
To Metatron - Bulgarian aviators never did fight with the red airforce, and needed a easy way to defer betwin the early Mustangs, and the Me-109, so they started painting the noses and tail fins of the machines. Beeing (proud) Bulgfarian myself, even I am surprised (pleasently) of the red nosed machine, but it is possible.

Actually, the colored noses and rudders pre-date the first encounter with P-51s and the VnVV (the Bulgarian AF). :wink:
The G2's of 3rd orlyak were painted in such a way to distinguish the different orlyaks (squadrons) in flight and the colors chosen were those of the national flag - white, green, red. Only the staff yato of four aircraft had bright yellow markings ("duck yellow" in archive documents, obviously lighter than the RLM02 in photos). As the war progressed and losses mounted a simpler camo was adopted, with RLM02 wingtips and radiator, and various blotches over the original German split-camo patters (usually white dots or green spirals, like on the Mc202). I've given a more detailed explanation in the ReadMe. But just to note, yes, the skinpack is largely historical, within the reasonable scale of mistakes when working with B&W photographs.

I've read that the Bulgarians were actually very reluctant to fight the Soviets, even helping out Soviet aviators if they happened to force land in Bulgaria.

Thanks for the info about the scheme! I didn't notice it was the national colours.
