As requested here are the files in PSD format to make your own parachutes.

Currently the aim is to make a parachute repaint pack so people can change to different parachute colors as they wish.

Below are the files in PSD format so you can make your own parachutes etc and also the necessary folders for the mod to work...

Instructions:

1. Paint what you want on it, fiddle around with the layers etc...
2 (OPTIONAL). If you want holes in your parachute you can edit the alpha channel layer.
3. Save as Parachute128.tga, check that alpha channels are saved and save as 32bit.
4. Resize Parachute128.tga to 64x64 and save as Parachute64.tga with the same options as No.3
5. Resize Parachute128.tga to 32x32 and save as Parachute32.tga with the same options as No.3
6. Put all 3 files into folder "Parachutes Repaint\3do\humans\Paratroopers\Chute"
7. Make sure Parachutes Repaint folder is in the MODS folder.
8. Start up IL2 and bail out!

Thanks, Raptor! I'm going to have some fun playing around with this one.
I'm just curious, i'm primarily an offliner, but would an online game be able to display individual players chutes? Or would they all be the same as the chute on the server?
It would be pretty cool if individual chutes could be displayed online - then guys would have some way of identifying players in chutes....just a thought.. :wink:

Unfortunately all parachutes use the same texture. So the Parafrag bombs use these parachutes etc....

I'll put up a download link shortly for the current parachutes that I have made so far as not all people are able to use photoshop and make their own ones etc....

*FIXED* Camo Parachutes are now fixed as there was a slight problem with some the smaller tga files being different. Please re-download the Camo parachutes if you have done so already.

kl guys, i'm sorry if some seem unrealistic or something to you as they aren't all directed at being realistic. Some are just becuase it would be cool to see parachutes in this colour/camo etc... and not all people want as realistic as possible.

Anyway if any of you have an idea for a parachute I could texture one or give me photos of some parachutes in WWII or in real life and I'll have a stab at it

If I remenber right the Luftwaffe use coloured para for drop supply to encircled unit in Russian winter!

Can be useful have coloured para for winter scenario!

New, historical German RZ20 parachute colour scheme. Parachute saw service from 1940 and onwards for the rest of the war. (See picture in above post for real image)
