I'm guessing you could use any Corsair skin with this one...

As far as I know, all Corsair skins are identically mapped and I've been skinning Corsairs for over three years now. I've not messed with the WIP F4U-1, although it looks to be the same as the Corsair I, the F4U-2 or F4U-5N WIP mods.

For the USA Birdcage, any F4U skin will be a perfect fit except the C model which might have gun smoke placed for those 20mm cannons on the wings, instead of the .50s.
Anyway for historical reasons I'd choose any of the available F4U-1A three-tone camouflage skins, which where used by that time, by both the Navy and the Marines. The later one tone "all navy blue" schemes won't be an accurate option.
The default [WIP] USA Birdcage skin is a late 42/ early 43 USMC two-tone paint scheme, remniscent of the Marines F4F's.
