Blender

Hi.

I am going to create B 52 plane for Il 2 sturmovik.
I have completely no clue what to do.
At this moment I am using blender(learning how to use)
I am not going to get any 3ds max, because they are 30 day trial versions or I have to pay for them.

Does anyone know what have I do after i will create this aircraft in blender?
I can't see any tutorials here.[/i]

b-52?

Thats quite a monster!!!

What year did she start flying?

1952 the prototype was build. So it's not a really young plane, but it's still in the american military.

Yes, it was basically used in Vietnam war, but I still want it in-game Big Grin

What about mine questions.

The first operational use of a b52 was in Vietnam if i remember correctly. Not that I wouldn't love to see this aircraft flying in IL2 wouldn't it be the only plane of its era? that would make for some boring flights! That and no maps it would have historically flown over. And I would imagine a mamouth task to model, Good luck mate! I think you will need it.

Uh. I've asked about blender and converting, not about if it is in good era or wrong.
I know it is from Vietnam era and a little of modern, but I just want to have my favourite plane in best flight simulator. In FSX for example, you can't shoot that much, and crashes look horrible.
That's why I am trying to make it for Il 2 1946. Nothing can stop me.

So that's why i am asking, what should I do after I will finnish my work in blender?

Also who said that this will be the only plane of it's era? If I will make it and it will be working good, then maybe I will be able to split up some more Vietnam planes.

Isn't that much of modeling, just stretched out B 29 cockpit, two wings, 8 engines, can be used from the axis jet planes, 16 wheels Big Grin.

Is there any possibility to open for example, the Arado 234 or B 29 and take their parts to mine?
I mean in Blender.

Excuse me? Can't you read? Or is your mind damaged?

What's the point of this, I've thought you can model and mod what you want.
No one said that we can make WWII planes only.

If you are going to post like " It is wrong era plane" or something, then simply don't post.

Your right that nobody can stop you but..... Dont expect people to jump into line to help you either.

You see right or wrong IL2 is a very special and protected sim to most people. It is by far the most complete world war two sim out and there are still many whonderfull WWII aircraft that need to be modeled. There is sort of an unwritten rule that IL2s focus will be primarily WWII with a bit going back to WW1 and a bit going to Korea, But beyond that I think you will find little help. Sims in the past that have tried to have a little of everything have always failed. IL2 is very specialised and alot of people want to keep it that way. I wont lie, Me included. Call us arrogant, But we arent playing Microsoft Combat Flight Sim either.

I love vietnam era aircraft, But thats why I play Strike Fighters.

Take it or leave it, just my 2 cents.

Yes!
I would like to carpet bomb an area singlehandedly!

I have no clue why people are so against moving out of WWII... it was not the only war with aerial combat, mind you.

Just look at the OOF Project! Why aren't people bitching about that? Because it's a grand idea, that's why! IL-2 is so versatile, almost any period of aviation could be modded (we'll see about them supersonic jets or not Sad )

Best of luck on your endeavors, Mr. F!

Thanks to last two mates who don't act like complete arogants.

I know it is a bit strange, but you think that IL 2 will forever have only WWII aircrafts?

What's about the WWI mod?
It's the same thing as my plane, two different era's, so i don't know why people are that much bitching about one single plane from Vietnam war, and about the WWI mod they simply "OH" "AH's."

I will do my best to make this monster fly.

Good Luck with it!....build it then come back and find out how to get it in game...S~

Salute ALL hi ;-)

@ Failure, you can build a 3D model in any 3D program so long as you can get a 3DS
Out of it, but you need 3D max 9 or 2009 for the last step, the converter for the IL2
Data ( LOD ) only works with 3D max 9 or 2009 that

how dare you call our OOF an OH AH mod! And you wanted me to let you do some effects for my V-2. If you don't want WWI then don't D/L it when it comes out. Besides. The KOREA (NOT VIETNAM) era has TWO planes. Not ONE.

lol

Little self control sir.
First of all, I don't need to do any effects for you, I've only offered help.
Second, you told me that you will PM respond me about the effects structure. 1 week no PM.
Third, I am not saying that I don't like your WWI mod.
I am just trying to say, that people accept the WWI era mod in WWII sim, so what's the deal to accept a plane from Vietnam/Korea or whatever era in this sim?

Thanks Deutschmark for clearing this out,
also I have another question.
If I will end doing to model in Blender, do I have to do some animation stuff?
I mean when I will add all those propellers meshes and gear's meshes with wheels, I will make them spin/animate in 3ds max, blender, or do I have to do it with some scripting? I can do Java, C++, ini, lua.

At this moment I am creating just meshes and putting all together, I don't know if I have and how do I have to make stuff spin or animate.

Anyways, thanks for positive comments, Deutshmark, Sully, Dr.Strangelove.

Cheers.
