how to create a new sound mod?

hi,

i want to create a new 20mm sound mod for, say LA7, the berezin cannon (b20) i believe it called. now how am i supposed to figure out what the .prs file name is supposed to be called??

i don't see an existing .prs for this weapon. is it already there ( I have 4.09 with AAA UI installed) but called by a name that i am not recognizing??? i imagine this shouldn't be a guessing game - i want be able to change sounds of weapons and engines in general, and i don't see how to do this unless there is already an existing .prs that you know clearly maps to a specific weapon or engine.

any help would be hugely appreciated.

Just make a sound that you like and lable it same as in the samples folder and it will work. It will use the existing .prs file but as far as the .prs file is concerned it is something that you don't have to modify to get your sounds to work, cheers...

hi thanks for the replies.

but, maybe i didn't clarify or did i miss something in your replies. if you read my second paragraph in the original question you'll see my problem isn't knowing how to create the sounds themselves or where to put the wave or .prs files. the main problem is knowing what the .prs should called when there IS NO .prs in existance already for the weapon you want to change the sound of.... you see.

FOR Example: there IS NO weapon*.prs file that I can see which maps to the berezin 20mm cannon in the files\presets folder. so if i want to change the sound of the berezin 20mm cannon how do I know what to call the file so it will be picked up by the LA7 plane which uses this cannon.

am i missing something?
