NTRK and MIS file formats for ACMI software
#1

Hi all,

I have the idea of building a little playback application of track files...

I'm looking for the Encoding/Encryption of the NTRK and MIS files from online cache.

If anyone has an idea please let me know.

I just found a software that should do what i wanted to build.. its called MLR. Does anyone have a link to it, maybe someone can send it to be ?!

Thanks in advance,

Hmm...
1st: wrong section
2nd: ntrk files are code. They just store the flight data and planes course and height etc. They aren't vids. You see it when you look size of them. Under 50kt.

Thanks for the reply,

I think i must say that i'm a software programmer and that i know track files are not video clip. They are, in facts, a data stream of all the simulation frame/step the sim did while running.

My goal is to build a small 3d software to debrief over sorties otherwise known as Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI). With the help of a few utilities from QTim and others, that i found here, i've manage to build a landscape viewer for the map already present in IL2.

To make things clearer, i'm looking for the file format used by the .Ntrk and .Mis (from net cache). I'm currently trying to reverse-engineer thoses files format, but its going to be hard work. So, this is why i'm here asking for help.

Feel free to move the thread to where its belong and/or to point me to others resources.

Thanks again!

NTRK viewer is a great idea!

Awesome! would it be possible to include a feature to save the track as a WMV or AVI? or possibly a recording feature like fraps currently has? Would be extremely useful if it did, as currently fraps causes a loss in FPS when recording

Fantastic idea mate! Keep up the good work

Good idea Midnight.

I'm not sure if read it somewhere or just discussed the issue with someone and he told me this, but, IIRC, the first part of the .ntrk is where the map, textures and cams are. then it has the stream of object positions and angles.

Anyway, next time we're together, if you want, we can bounce some ideas.

The file format however I don't know.

good luck on the project
