Cannot install Hyperlobby!
#1

Hi all!

I am having a strange problem in that I cannot install hyperlobby. It always gets past the part where you select the install path and the start menu listing, and then an error comes up that says "Error: Filename : is not valid.

I have tried everything from running as administrator, disabling UAC,checking readonly, running in compatibility mode, and this error stumps me every time. I checked registry and there is nothing in there hyperlobby related. Im running Windows Vista 64bit. Help!!! I miss playing online!

You have to right click on the installer and run it in XP SP2 compatability mode as well as running it as Administrator.

If you need step by step instructions, let me know. I've been running it on Vista x64 for about 9mos now.

Depending on your Video Card, you're also going to run into driver issues between Vista x64 and Java/OpenGL causing the video driver to periodically stop responding.

Main cause is that there are no x64 Java drivers/software yet.

Hey bud, this thread is like a year old, lol... but I did manage to fix it. I had to disable User Accounts Control in my Vista.. I am assuming you also have vista? if so, try this out. I didn't like it at first because it takes some security away, but ultimately it was worth it. Here's a link that should help you
