Is there anyone out there who can explain how to play online. I want to play with certain friends for starters to fell my way around. I've been trying to navigate hyperlobby but I am not fetting anywhere.

I feel stronly that the best recommendation that I can make is to join an online IL-2 squadron. The variety is amazing, you'll get one on one help, and you'll meet knew friends. There are fighter, bomber, and fighter/bomber squadrons, as well as those who fly planes of various nations. Some fly in HyperLobby and many fly in private missions and campaigns with 20 to about 80 pilots in the mission at a time, flying in several squadrons.

As you can see, it is a very long list with thousands of pilots, so I am sure that you can find one that you will like. Once you choose a squadron, simply use the mod pack that they use.

Try to get things set so you can use the communications program called TeamSpeak. With it, you can talk through your computer to your squadmates, very similar to cockpit radio during combat.

Sounds like you want to be your own server. Be sure your friends have the same version as you. Startup IL2, multiplayer, create a server.
Let your friends know your IP address so they can connect.
Then all you need to do is startup a scenerio and they should be able to join.
