BF109G6 from Trop on right bulge inaccuracy
#1

Hi!

I have find a little inaccuracy of the right bulge of the BF109 G6 Trop that are so replicated into the G6 late and the G14:

The use of the plane into a desert and hot condition have made born the necessity of a better cooling of the engine so was installed a larger oil pump that find it's location lightly under the right MG bulge , so the necessity of another little bulge to cover the such bigger pump. For have a meticolous shape was also realizated an air intake into the MG bulge for a better air cooling of the pump that have overheating trouble since the begin of the G series (Tha star of Afrika can have find his end due a pump heating failure)!

I hope that someone can make such fix that I find (not for me) not so difficult to do because I think involve only a graphical modification only of the right bulge of the plane!

Hope to don't bother none with this topic!!

My best regards!

Like the other thread man, if you can provide pictures and links to references, then people can consider it and help out

Had a look ingame and then at the pictures. While yes the ingame variants are lacking these features, some custom skins do show the oil sump cover for the G-10 and some the Oil pump cover for the G. Honestly some clever skinning would do the trick.

Hi!

I'm neither a skinner nor a modder so I can't say nothing about , only a little observation:

If the trick can be solved by skinning we can have only some skin with because the most part haven't those features so I can suggest a 'visual mod' like (I'll try to explain my thought):

A skinner can do a drawing of those part only by reproducing the shape of the bigger pump cover in a transparent skin that can be copied , pasted on a normal skin (I don't know if possible because the various skin are a personal and shared draw and before to make this is preferible to know the skinner thought)

A better shared solution is a real graphical mod that give at all aircraft the correct shape but I repeat that I can't say nothing about others will.

The oil sump cover on the G10 is fixed by a new skin. It doesn't bulge out at all, so need for a new model. The oil pump on the G6 trop could be improved by a 3D model, but since there is no G6 trop in game, its not a necessity. I am working on G6 trop (to fill one of Muas's slots) so if I get my 3D skills up to scratch I'll try to add it

Hi!

Thanks Anto for your work!

I like to see this news , take in mind that the little oil pump bulge was standardized by G14 onwards so can be needed a fix even for this plane!

I'm permitt to suggest you to make two different modification: one of the bulge that can be standardized for G6trop/G6late/G14 , and the sand filter that can be added only to the G6trop.

I'm thinking that you can made two fix like the mods that fix (by deleting) the dorsal fin of the P51D5!

You can find it here:
