Hmm, that's strange. I can only assume that this must be the default scheme for the MiG-3ud, because neither McWolf's mod nor my add-on change the placement of the markings. The stars that should be on the wing undersides are same as the fuselage ones (which do work), so I imagine it's supposed to be this way. Try deactivating the mod folder with "-" in front of it to use the game's original markings and see if the wings still remain blank.

@Berserker: Now that I'm back to my normal PC, I have checked out Oleg's markings for the MiG-3ud. They are indeed missing from Oleg's set. AFIK, The only way to fix this is to edit the class files for the plane's model (I have no idea how any of that works).

I think Muas know about all this stuff. He is a legend. Blow on the mighty Muas conch horn and he might come...

Sorry Spookie. You are right, the problem has nothing to do with your MOD

Ha!

Perhaps I should blow into this magical shell. There are many problems with Oleg's marking system that I would like to fix.[/quote]

Hi Spookie Smile

I like a lot your MOD, but one thing I do not like too much.

When flying with a German plane in 1944, for example an Fw-190A8, the plane shows the same markings, than a plane in early 1940/41. I refer to the Balkenkreutz and the Hakenkreutrz, and this is not historically correct.

The MatManager for example have markings for the diferents different times of the war.

Another thing is that the numbers of aircraft in the same squadron or flight, to be in order (1,2,3,4 etc) again, instead of random.

We can fix this somehow????

This is no criticism of your magnificent work, only a single request

Sorry my poor english

Your English is plenty fine my friend, so don't worry.
About the later Fw-190s, it is possible to use later markings just like MAT manager lets you. Unfortunately, other aircraft (like the Bf-109E) also use the same early-style Balkenkreuzen, so replacing them would leave late war markings on early war planes. This is also what MAT manager does when you select the year for your markings. You can manually change which markings are used by renaming any of the Balken.TGA files in the German folder if you want. Balken0 being the pre-war style, Balken1 being 1940-42, balken2 1942-44, and balken3 1944-45. Many Fw-190s did use early style markings even as late as 1944, which I think is why Oleg's team programmed them that way. However, I agree that an A-8 should not have 1940 markings.
Now, as for the random numbers, I think MAT manger just replaced 1,2,3,etc with numbers like 9,5,7,etc. The numbers weren't actually random, rather the TGA of a number like 8 or something had the file name for the number 1. So, the game would load "1" but it would actually be an "8". That's my understanding anyway. So, theoretically, one could just rename the number files to put them in any order they wanted and get basically the same result. I should try to investigate this. Anyway, I hope my answer was not too long and complicated

You're best off setting the clear cache line in your conf.ini to 1

Yes I set that line to 1 and it still has the same look...

To clear the cache folder do I delete it or just delete the contents, also is this the cache folder in the PaintSchemes folder?

Also, you said you have to McWolfs decal shine. I dl'd it but it is just one file with absolutely no instructions with what to do with it.

About the P-51 and P-47: In order to fix those problems I would need to edit the class files for the individual planes, which is beyond the scope of this mod and my current abilities. Sorry.

As for the second part, which file are you talking about (McWolf's or mine)? I checked my download, and the readme is in there. All you have to do for installation though is overwrite McWolf's PAINTSCHEMES folder with mine. You're just overwriting some of the TGAs and adding a few files. Please read the readme, though. It has a detailed description of the features (some of which you may not want depending upon the historical time period). Let me know if you have any further problems.

I followed the instructions in the readme.txt, but I have a question. Do I need to remove MatManager v2.36 to use this?

I guess two questions.
The shot below shows McWolfs Decalshine file in the mods folder, but it does not associate with any program. Is this what it is supposed to look like? I do not understand how it can work. Also, It did not come with a paintschemes folder. The paintschemes folder in there is yours.

Try manually deleting everything in the cache folder. That should do it.

Ah, now I see what you were talking about. The file from McWolf is a ".7z" extension. This is a form of compression like a .zip or .rar file and you need to extract it first. I'm not sure why he used that format instead of a .rar file, but a program such as WinRar will extract the the files for you. If you can't find a way to extract it PM me and I'll email you my folder that has all the stuff (both mine and McWolf's) to get everything to work.

Also, I forgot one thing Grant. You don't have to uninstall MAT Manager or delete the files it put in your Regiments folder, but you do need to empty your cache folder out. Set the clear cache line in your conf.ini to 1 as well.
