Saitek Aviator owners - please help
#1

I've been using a Saitek AV8R-01 joystick for about two years now and it's pretty good, but recently a very annoying problem appeared - one of my throttle controls (the left one) constantly falls down on its own when left at about 55% throttle or more. The problem got worse so I finally opened the stick and noticed that there was almost no grease(?) left on the throttle lever (the other one has a ton of it and is fine). I managed to scoop out just a little bit from the other joints so the throttle stick now slowly "plops" down, but the problem still persists (and I regularly get engine damage when I let it go in a dive).
Does anyone have any idea what is the stuff that's used to, er, lubricate(?) the joints so that the parts down move around on their own, and if it's commercially available? Big Grin

Thanks!

I have this stick and i think you can make both throttles work as one push the button in that connects themshould fix the problem tempary until you find a correct fix.

I love this model to, and i have had only one problem out of it so far-the alieron calibration kept going out. so i went to BEST BUY and got another one for $22.00 and a Two year manufacters warrenty for an additional $2.00. Maybe after 2 years it's time for a new flight stick ,you think?

Nope, on the inside the lever connects to to a round part and there's something like grese or sillicone, which is liquid, yet very stiff and sticky. On one of the levers there's plenty left and it works fine, but on the left one most of it is gone (maybe it dried or I accidentaly wiped it off while cleaning the stick) and the lever is rather loose, so pointing is down after a certain angle (about 55-60% throttle seting in Il-2) it just "plops" on its own.

I'll try with sillicone lubricant, maybe it'll work. Thanks!
