great work on the cockpit! I like the footprints, but would have to agree with shakthamac, they are a little small, but other than that it is excellent!

Is there anything in these textures that would bring FPS way down? When I tried this mod, it brought my system to its knees. External views, I had "normal" FPS counts in the mid/upper 20s, but inside the pit with the mod enabled, the FPS dropped to 5 and under.

Hey WindWeapon. I don't know how helpful this is but of all the aircraft in the game the F4Us cockpit has the largest impact on frame rates on my system, even more so than any of the new righ res versions... though I'm not sure why. I get at least 10 frames a second less than other pits. It may be worth dropping your anti ailising settings or similar, I have found that FPS under 30 to be quite unpleasant.

In your file, it's the red one on the lower right of instru01.tga.
I've seen this red colored instrument only on one picture,here:

which doesn't look genuine at all. To me the correct color is black, with white indications and needles.

I think i can make it black and white for my own use allright, but i'm less talented with gimp than you are, thus the humble suggestion of proposing black n white instead of red as an option. Thanks again for the cockpit

Just curious...
I noticed that every so often you "up-date" the Finished release (page) of the F4U, but you don't really state clearly what (or if) you have made any changes to that "Finished" Download... I read through the thread (here) and it looks like the "final" release has been a work in progress (?) for the last few weeks?
Could you tell me please... If I downloaded the first "F4U cockpit=Finished" you upped a couple of weeks back(?), is it the same as the one you have up now? Where your changes just "bug fixes" or is the latest download the best? Sorry, but I'm a "bit-thick" and i need to have things spelled out for me sometimes (lol)...thanks for your work.
