So, I've been reading around about Korea and what not from this site and I was thinking that it would be interesting to have an alternative "heated" Cold War scenario. Assuming that Japan was invaded, the war was supposed to last until 1947 according to military estimates. As such, I started with 1948 USAF aircraft. I know that the XF-86 is already under construction so here are the other ideas. These are all American fighters.

XF-85 Goblin - Parasite Fighter for the B-36

XF-88 Voodoo - Long Range Escort Fighter

XF-89 Scorpion - All Weather/Night Fighter

That is just awesome!!!

I hope we can get the Voodoo from someone. The only reason it wasn't put into production is because the USAF thought that escorst were obselete. Ha, ha, ha, look at Korea... F-86's and F3D's got to play escort roles. Would have been nice to have a purpose built long range bird.

I've only dropped the ones that noone will bother to reply back to me about them. I ONLY do 3D work from now on. I can do that.

then your work will remain 3D only. Whilst we withhold information on certain aspects of modding, we also do not help those who refuse to help themselves.

Help myself? As in learn to import myself? I know how to. It's the fact that my models refuse to be imported. No matter what importer I use, models made in MS3D will NOT be imported.

Then learn from what you've done wrong. Work in 3DS max. Simple.

I have explained to you in the past what was wrong, you ignored the facts.

Any mesh cannot exceed 3000 polys, you must get your materials correct, and ensure your LODs are also correct.

I was wrong. The XF-88 sucked miserably... Long live the Sabre...

The production P-86A-1-NA was flying in March 1948. Two months later it became the F-86A-1NA. In December, the engine was improved making the F-86A-5-NA. In comparison, the range of the Sabre was 1,200mi and the Voodoo was 1,737mi. Does anyone know of a good late WWII/early Korea American or British super long range fighter as in +2,000mi. The XP-61F had the range wasn't all that fast. The XP-83 failed miserably. The F-82 didn't have that great of range and wasn't fast enough to keep off the newer jets. The XP-81 never go the engine it needed. The Meteor earned it's name of the "meatbox" and the Vampire was amazing for everything but range. The F-101 came too late, after Korea.

Also because the Goblin was an awful aeroplane to fly and turbulence problems in close proximity to the mothership were deemed too risky.
