Missing RAAF roundels...??
#1

Hi all
I've noticed that, in QMB, when I choose RAAF as a country, the aircraft have group lettering, but there are no RAAF roundels displayed. I'd never really bothered too much about it, as my game has never displayed the RAAF roundels, in modded or un-modded form. I've noticed that almost every screenshot I see of RAAF planes, that they are displaying the roundels. My question, then: Is there something missing in my game that the roundels don't appear? Or are the pics I'm seeing all skinned with the roundel on? It does seem a bit strange to me that with the new Forgotten Countries mod, I have all these lovely markings for new countries, but still no markings for RAAF? Doesn't make sense. Is this a game limitation? Is mine just porked?
Any ideas? :?:

Hi bigbossmalone;

Do you have Mat Manager? The v2.36 self installer is available on mission4today.com, this has WWII RAAF markings plus heaps of others.

Cheers

dsmith, i've been using MAT manager almost since it first came out, currently on 2.36, yes.
Any ideas which mat files are involved, and where they should be sitting?
I'm guessing in the Cache folder, but it's pretty big, especially if you don't know what you're looking for... :? :?:

Hello bigbossmalone!
I had the same problem using Mat Manager. Check if the roundels are disabled in the last box in Wheathered National Markings. Ciao

well, you were right, mate! Big Grin
I had a look at the MAT manager screen, and true enough, the Australian emblems had been disabled!
Ok, easy enough to solve...NORMALLY...just run MAT to place the new version......now I have another potential problem.....I'm using the Forgotten Countries mod, which is awesome. It can be used in conjunction with MAT manager, I'm led to believe. BUT....when you install Forgotten Countries, you need to remove the Coopregt folder from IL2. MAT manager, on the other hand, requires the Coopregt folder in order to place any new/changed mat's.
So, do I now put the Coopregt folder (I have a backup) back into the game, and try to update MAT manager? Potentially, this could mess my markings up in a big way... :?
Anyone in the know, who can help me to avoid potential disaster... :?: 8)

Never mind, fellas! Sorted it. Used a 'cheat' by placing the CoopRegt folder into IL2, then updating MAT manager with the new markings, then removing the CoopRegt folder again, run IL2 and.....voila!!
Sweet!
Thanks for the guick pointers, chaps! Steered me in the right direction...
