Channel Beta missions request
#1

Could anyone who knows how to use the FMB do me a huge favour and create a set of single missions representing various types of missions for both the RAF and the Luftwaffe in Canon's Beta Channel map ?

Quick missions are good, but I like my take off and landing, and FMB missions allow for more details.

I'm looking for pretty basic missions : Bomber Intercept, Fighter Sweep, Rhubarb/Jabos on military targets or trains, V-1 Interception, V-1 site attack, Shipping attacks, Strikes on significant targets... Anything goes !

I don't really have a particular type of plane in mind, I will edit the mission files to use the planes I want, as this is about the only mission-related manipulation I know how to do.

Any such missions would be greatly appreciated, thanks !

Cheers

I'd love to have some new FMB missions also.

meanwhile, if you've not already done it, fly the Biggin Hill campaign with the beta map:

Gents,

I have been working on a full Campaign for the Channel, but have been waiting for the final release before I finish up everything and plug them into DCG. If you're willing to test them for me, I'd love the feedback, but you must be willing to keep them quite until the final release.

PM me if you're interested in Beta Testing the individual missions. I'll take the first 10 guys.

I had several co-ops for the BoB era that my squad and I fly. They are not even close to historical and I dont think I even finished writing the briefings for some of them. We love flying BoB missions and if I remember correctly I had at least 4 that are really fun. However.......I may have lost them when my old PC had its meltdown. I do remember sending them to Potenz before that.....let me see if I can find them anywhere.

Ill get back to you.

I thought i had read that missions/campaigns written for the Beta map would not work when the final Canon Cross Channel map is released....that all missions would have to be re-written? Am I confusing two Channel Maps..again?

I have already downloaded and modified the Biggin Hill Wing campaign beyond recognition Big Grin I made several versions of each mission to represent different timeframes, airforces or plane types.

Unfortunately this campaign doesn't have ground attack missions, and enemy planes spawn in the air and in the middle of the mission, so these missions can't be modified to be flown 'on the other side'

That's correct, that's why they are not finished yet. I will have to re-script them after the final maps

My understanding is that the scale of the final map will be different.

(Please feel free to correct me if I have mis-remembered  )

You could try the missions from my Channel Dash campaign - they are on M4T - it is basically 4 missions - a recon over the Channel which will end up in a dogfight if you play your cards right - a fighter sweep to protect some torpedo boats - an escort mssion to protect some ersatz Swordfishes on an ill-fated attack - and a torpedo attack of your own in a Beaufighter MkX at dusk northeast of Dover. - cheers - viking

Oh I remember seeing those. Will give them a try, thanks. Are these depicting the German ships'successful escape from Brest to the North Sea ?

Sorry to be so late - didn't see your reply - in short - yes - with the positions of the German fleet during the day as historically correct as possible on that map. -viking
