[Download]Royal Navy F9F Panthers
#1

I know this did not happen but.....

Two Royal Navy Panthers have completed initial ground trials at RNAS Yeovilton and are currently operating with HMS Hermes in the Channel south of Portsmouth. They are conducting a workup/familiarization period before the remainder of the Squadron joins for an exercise in the mediterranean off Suez.

Based on the RN colour scheme of the time this is how they would probably have looked. So until we get RN carrier based jets in the game (Sea Hawk etc) then this will have to suffice.

Until the download link can be set up you can get them here:

(The link is inoperative)

It's all make believe anyway..

Very good work sir. I knew the community would be forthcoming once a visual model was completed.

It just seemed too good an opportunity to miss and I have always loved that colour scheme... I did the YP-80 in a similar scheme some time ago to see how it looked, but this one just looks "right" in those colours.

Again all credit has to go to Flak for his model .... I can't wait for the full FM with the working tail hook though.....

I could always do a Sabre/Fury FJ-3 skin in the same scheme to give them some top cover....... or is that stretching it a bit far?

Actually thinking about it, the RAF flew the Sabre so the RN could have flown the Fury......

Lovely... I'm amazed how this game has made me love aircraft more, you feel more intimate with a plane once you have...virtually flown it. Tongue

I wanna shoot down some Egyptian Migs with that skin! No offence intended, i hate politics.

pity that the RN couldn't get the Panther rather than the wretched Westland Wyvern. they really deserved better.

A fitting addition to the collection and a great way to make some interesting missions.

Even as an ex RAF bod, we all knew the Senior Service could fly bloody anything 8)

Thanks for a really nice skin.

I think Highlander has done some great skins in the style that you are asking for. His post is in this section here:
