Fabianfred,

By "flat" do you mean a stationary object like a building that can placed anywhere on the surface ?

Or do you mean an object similar to a ship or vehicle (look at ship pack 2 for example). This could open up a range of possibilities.

If set a a certain height above the ground, it could also be made to move around the map (in the same manner as a ship) creating the impression of helicopter operations.

However, either way, someone would have to create the mesh first, although I suspect this could be a fairly low poly object.

Further to my previous post, I have just gone into my copy of Ship pack2 and changed the Heir for one of the destroyers to temporarily remove all meshes except the mesh for one turret. The last 3 numbers in the 12 number sequence are the X,Y and Z co-ordinates for each mesh. By setting 0,0,25 and then setting waypoints for it in FMB I was able to "fly" this around the fleet and effectively "Hover" over a Carrier. I also had it flying alongside the carrier "on station" as a resue helo to pick up pilots that ditch on take off. If I had the mesh for a helicopter it would have looked real...

I think you have hit on the basis for a brilliant MOD idea here.

Any one fancy creating a mesh for the rescue Helicopter and taking this idea forward ????

Thanks for your time...
i was only thinking of a simple Object like a 2D wall with this as the tga file.... I already wiped out the background in Photoshop
