Various questions. one on wind sound
#1

I did search for the answers.

1. When I jump to an open gunner position, I hear wind. (say in an A-20 to top gunner,) which is great. But when I jump back to a closed cockpit, the open air wind sound stays on. Now if I do this in say an SBD and open/close the cockpit the wind goes away. Anyone else notice/having this issue?

2. I had to rebuild my game somewhat after a horrible try on AAA server. lol It changed many of my settings in addition to losing radio chatter (which is why I had to rebuild a new file.) Yes, the volume was up on voice in audio setting, and and chatter in conf.ini was set to NoChatter=0. So I started over by copying mod/files/sounds etc folder. I think I have the game like it was other than;

a. I cannot remember how/or if I... got the plane to not go to auto pilot when I changed gunner positions.

b. Same questions as RichardH here:
viewtopic.php?t=16092

I was playing a campaign with 66 sorties completed. I tried moving the 3 DGen text documents that have all the campaign information to my new folder, but the career is not there. Not a big deal, I can finish that campaign with no radio chatter. Would be nice to have it back to normal, however. Or have it moved to my new folder.

3. This one is just out of curiosity. The iron sight on the A6Ms that folds out left when you start, and closes back when you get killed...does it have a purpose. Can/was it be used like the iron sights in a P-47?

Hiya
I'll answer what I can...
1 this is an issue that was addressed in a fix, that was available here, whether it still is, I don't know...
If I find it among my mega-gigs of AAA downloads, I'll let you know. Try searching for 'wind sound' or something like that...
EDIT: Found it: (The link is inoperative)
2 a - Assign a key to 'Toggle Level Autopilot', and use that.
b - You can transfer campaigns, afaik, but I don't think they will continue where you left off. You'll prob'ly have to start from the beginning. I stand to be corrected on this... :?:

3 Yes, the Zero iron sights will be activated if your other sight/reticle is damaged. You can then use it for sighting... 8)

Hope this helps.

Many thanks, bigboss. Smile That wind was no big deal, just annoying. Can't believe I did not see that fix. Sorry.

Thanks too for the other info. I never had 'Toggle Level Autopilot' assigned before, but somehow I managed to have my plane stay off auto when switching gunners. Strange. I'll do that though.

Thanks again, boss.

Message by MrJolly, somewhere here at AAA, precise link lost, sorry:

If you loose control of gunners....
if this happens you can turn them on by pressing A - but if you want to get them back working properly goto your conf.ini (located within the root of your IL2 game folder) file & edit within notepad, now look for [game] & then look for viewSet= & set to viewSet=36 this will repair it .

I did not tried it yet, but hope this helps.
