Battle Sounds v2
#1

This is an update to the original Battle Sounds Mod. This mod enhances some of the mid air explosions as well as the air to ground explosions. In Game, the stock air to ground explosion sounds are almost nonexistent. Battle Sounds v2 fixes that. When you drop your bombs at low level, you will now be able to hear the explosion. You will also be able to hear your rockets when they impact the ground. In addition, there are several new sound files added to Battle Sounds v2.

Installation:

1: Delete the original Battle Sounds Mod if you have it installed.

2: Copy Battle_Sounds_v2 to your IL-2 1946 Mods folder.

To uninstall:

Delete the Battle_Sounds_v2 folder from your IL-2 1946 Mods folder.

Enjoy!

EDIT: I changed the download site for a much easier install. Now you can just copy the Battle_Sounds_v2 folder into your Mods folder and you'll be good to go.

Sorry 4./JG53_Badger, There is no video for this mod, but the first version was very popular. Battle Sounds v2 has only been available for download a short time and it has already been downloaded several times. Maybe someone that is good at it will post a video, but in the mean time, it's real simple to install so give it a shot. Go do some lo-level bombing and you'll hear a big difference right off the bat.

I have the original Battle Sounds mod and was wondering this v2 has scaled down the sounds based upon distance. In the original version, for example flak sounds sounded like they were right outside the cockpit window though were happening many miles away. I remember flying in the Darwin campaign and was out near Charles Point but could hear flak in the cockpit like it was happening around me, though it was actually being fired from ground gunners around Darwin. Even if I flew further north and away from Darwin, the flak sounded like it remained just outside the cockpit window.

Granted, the sounds definitely make you jump in your seat which is quite cool! Nothing like being jumped by an enemy aircraft and hearing the loud hits on the plane! However, if you are far away from the action, it seem like the sounds (flak, tracer fire, etc...) are too loud, at least in the original Battle Sounds.

@WindWeapon
You should be able to head the explosion fade in the distance. If you are not hearing this, it may be due to your config.ini settings. It sounds to me like you might have your (Attenuation) value set to low. Go into your onfig.ini file and find the [Sounds] section and try adjusting some of the settings there. That might fix your problem.

Here are my sound settings, you can try them out and see if it helps.

nice MOD thanks for that BUT.......

Why do people use these crappy uploaders like 4shared, jeez that sucks. It's slow (450 kb/sec only), only 1 download allowed so for the 2th one you gotta wait again and friggin'40 sec waiting time before each downloadSad

I hope if people make something noce and wonderfull they also offer it in smart way to the community couse i was about to cancel the whole crappy download. (glad i didn't couse the MOD is supurb)

I really liked your Battle Sounds 1 mod. Maybe it was too loud compared to RL but it made flying through even light flak absolutely frikkin' terrifying. Loved it! That, combined with teh improved flak burst effects made a huge impact on me.
thanks very much.
