Hi All.

I was just wondering whether anyone else agrees with me that the early Hurricane and Spits gunsights could be improved?

I was wondering about this, and when I saw the beaufighters gunsight; I realised that it would be perfect.

(sorry Agracier to use your picture :wink: )

Does anyone else agree that this would greatly improve the spit and hurricane cockpits? I think that this would really add to the sim :wink:

Agreed, the later sight looks plain wrong in a Hurricane I.

The actual sight. I know the spit mk 1 was improved for the later version, but I think that the one as shown in the beaufighter is much better.
Avala did a superb job though of improving the actual reticle.
BoB WoV is a good example of a great early reflector gunsight.

Check out the sight as used in the A2A Supermarine Spitfire Mark 1:
IMHO this is perfect, and the one used in the beaufighter is a good match. DOes anyone who flies RAF Battle of Britain agree with me?

I've kind of toyed with the idea of a new cockpit model for the Spit as the old one is a bit... well, lacking; however I've got the 219's to do first and I still want to actually finish both the Ar240 and my King Tiger. I don't suppose any of the other 3D artists could be conned into making a more detailed and accurate Spitfire cockpit? :lol:

Avala's already done a superb job on both the spit and hurri's, but I'm not sure he has looked into the actual reflector gunsight. I'm sure that if a group of 3D modellor's sat together, some superb work could be created. :wink:

I was thinking more of a whole new model rather than a reskin. Something to bring it up to the Tempest's standard of detail at the very least.

It's an idea. I hope some of the modellors read this. However, time does come into this, and with all the other projects going on-a new reflector gunsight would IMHO be enough for the mo'.

One of the versions has teh correct mark II baker gunsight. Would it be possible to have this modded over to the early hurricanes and spitfires? :wink:
