Hi,
As per my posts about the Sea Hurricane wrecking my install.
Is it possible to backdate my pc to a couple of days ago to when I had everything working fine and had'nt yet attempted to install the Sea Hurricane ?
I know the pc does this automatically if it has a melt down over something and goes back to when it worked perfectly (pre problem), but I want to know if it is possible to do this manually and go back a couple of days to when my previous install of the game was working properly.
Not sure how to do this ,or if it is possible, can someone be of help please?
Thanks.
You are thinking of Windows System Restore. It only really does a restore for Microsoft programs and alters the registry of programs that have been installed.
In your case, if you are not sure what is messing up IL-2, do a reinstall.

couldn't you just remove the sea Hurri's mod folder, and delete its profiles in air.ini, planes.ru and weapons.ru
If it has an entry, it'd find it (eg seahurriIIb or something, i haven't installed it yet myself). Make sure you have the latest aircraft installer 3.6, and if it still doesn't work, like i said, you should delete the mod folder and its entries into the 3 above named documents. If you're not sure where they are, ask, and i'll post their locations.
Annoying the annoying, so you don't have to.
My problems started with the 3.6 installer, I never got as far as installing the Hurricane mod

I went onto the sea hurri's comments, and saw your air.ini -- i cannot help noticing that there's no entry for the sea Hurris as far as i could see. That could explain the issue; also, i noticed you had a hurricane IIa as an entry, which i didn't know had been released. That might also explain some issues.

I have several UI installs, one is my test UI for anything new. I installed the SeaHurry in my test and ran the 3.6 automticaly and everything was fine so, I put it my home UI and got the ctd. To fix this I went to a "clean" UI install and copied the files folder and put it my home UI and it worked. I treid just putting in the buttons file from the clean UI and it still crashed. The 3.6 must be doing something else to the files folder. Replace your files folder from a good instsall but remove anything about the SeaHurry first and see if it helps then run the 3.6 to "new folder " on desktop then just back up your buttons file and place the 3.6 buttons file in your files/gui/game folder and add all text to their places and see if it works. Hope this helps, it was the only way to make it work in my home UI but still dont know why it worked automaticaly in my "test" UI.
I had a problem once with an install.
I uninstalled the relevant mod then did a system restore to a previous point prior to the mod install, worked a treat for me
**Thinking on it, it was the Spit MkXIV

hmm.... i notice that the aircraft installer's page is still at the 3.5 version, and i never saw 3.6 get released. Perhaps we should wait till jolly updates the aircraft's installer page to 3.6, and try that one?

3.6 was included in the Sea Hurricane thread.
