It was a lot of work (3/4 of a year) and I lost motivation because I think that nobody is interested in this map, although it is really nice to discover the islands and their landmarks with a plane. Yes, it is possible to start from the airfields and land of course.

Well, we will also have to thank Saburo Sakai for drawing Porto72 out into the open. 8)

I am building a Pearl Harbor map (Hawaiian islands). The map is almost finished.

So there will be an official release that we must keep our eyes open for.

Would these ships be props for the map or can they be used like any other ship already in the sim? Great idea either way. Really looking forward to it.

ah, really beautiful!

One of my pet peaves regarding Pearl Harbour has always been the ships!
and for the lack of detail on the ground buildings, (prior to any new stuff) I've seen some really bang on stuff convincingly 'frankensteined' together
(I'm hoping you'll optimize em well (face counts, etc) so the FPS hit aint too bad)

I think that would be the Yorktown class ships I think. I saw a finished and in-game version, but it vanished.

the USS Tennessee is missing. Wonderful ship. We should integrate this ship too. What has to be done to finish the Tennesee?

By the way, to make thinks clear:

I AM NOT A WIZARD 3-D MODELER WHO IS ABLE TO BUILD FOUR SHIPS FROM THE BEGINNING ON . I STARTED WITH THE MAP AND WAS SO SAD ABOUT THE SHIPS IN THE GAME TO REPRESENT THE BATTLESHIP ROW THAT I LOOKED FOR A WAY TO OVERCOME THIS SHORTAGE.

AND AS YOU SEE I FOUND A WAY:

These ships are from Markz8686, a talented 3D Modeler who posted some perfect models in the Google 3 D warehouse

What I Did, was to find a way to convert them into il-2 format:
So I had to learn to cope with sketch up, then i took some school session in 3d max, after that I studied the structure of the wonderful shippacks from the AAA Team (they opened 4 or 5 slots for new ships in the shippack2) and viola there they are.

I integrated the USS Arizona, USS Maryland, USS Oklahoma and I am working on the USS Yorktown.
This ships can travel, you can bomb them, so they will sink like normal ships. But don`t forget: I am a beginner and I would like to get some help from you folks, to fulfill this dream: (AAA Team, other 3D-modeler, gibbage etc...)

So in a team we could perhaps even find a way to have some japanese ships in the game (Yamato, Taiho, Shinano, Kongo, Nagato ...) for example converted from SH3/SH4.
