Suggestion to All modders concerning New Slot AC
#1

First of all let me say this is not a gripe, I just want to bring something to everyone's attention.

This is concerning static aircraft and new slot planes. Basically, we get the new plane, which is great, but it takes forever to get a static aircraft update ... this is absolutely USELESS to campaign and mission builders. Sure, we can fly your lovely and OUTSTANDING creations, but we cannot make campaign maps or missions without the static object to put into the map .. It kind of negates the purpose for mission designers / campaign builders.

So here is my suggestion ...

Can we get one last update for all static planes that are missing?

The second thing is this: Can we have it be a requirement for new slot planes that the plane builder give the following data to add to the static.ini and technics.ini? The information could be put into the readme along with the data that goes into air.ini as well as planes_ru and weapons_ru?

I know it is one more thing to ask, but for people like myself, who EVERYTIME try and tinker with an .ini file and screw up the entire enstall ... it would be nice and very helpful. But mainly to have the static plane given along with the flyable one so that campaign and map builders can start imediately instead of having to wait on a static AC update ....

Thoughts? Opinions?

EDIT: If this is already a policy, forgive me.

I would also like to see instructions for each plane, in clear, to include them in DCG.

thanks for all the work folks

Its been on the cards for a while, but considering the uprated pace of the releases, its been getting held off till we can do a massive bulk update.

Sounds good. Guess I had the idea too late. Oh well. Better to bloom late then not at all. Don't you think? Big Grin
