We CANNOT have a new, New Guinea Map......

Unless we have some of the aircraft to fly it.....

Some easier I suspect (though have no idea) ones are B24's without the nose turret (was invented in New Guinea yet few had them).....B25 C's and D's like they really were, belly turrets replaced with drop tanks, no tail gunner, 4 50's in the nose like this :: ......P38F's, P40N's, 100, 240, 500# parademo's, 208 slot parafrags, and lets not forget Kenny cocktails!........On the Japanese side, Ki-43 with drop tanks. Single drop tanks on Ki-43 & 61's. A Ki-43 "tropical" (simply filters on the Ki-43-II). Lastly possibly Ki-49's basically Ki-21's upgraded.

The tougher end would be Ki-48's (even as static targets), Ki-45s, and Ki-51's. Lastly phosphorous airburst bombs for the fighters, and explosive trees (actually in the trees) which go off if X close to them........

Also....craters that LAST!....and won't even consider the ground objects and flak guns that should make flak like it was.

Or can we have a New Guinea map with the fixins needed?

i think the UI 1.11 version has crater objects in it. They would indeed be used alot by a mission maker to make an accuratly demolished IJN/IJA airfield. On the NGNB map, we built the fields in usable condition to give the mission maker more freedom to choose the level of destruction of the field. It would be correct for an online japanese pilot to dodge a few holes on take off or landing on the server. I say online only because i don't think the AI will dodge them.

You're also correct that we are missing some actors for the set thats being built. i'm gonna wager that the map will be finished before the other missing element you mentioned show up.

I agree wholeheartedly- what you're talking about is exactly what I think of when I imagine the PTO. I've been waiting forever to have some correct field mod B-25s, and the B-24D as well as the rest of the a/c mentioned (ESPECIALLY the Japanese ones) would be an extremely welcome addition. Buuut, with all the current WIPs and such, it don't look like we'll get any of this anytime soon... Sad

The P-38F/G and B-24D are badly needed and not just for the Pacific theater.

Field modded B-25C/D's would be a requirement for a New Guinea campaign.

To give some clarification as to the importance of at least one of the above Japanese aircraft...

The Ki-45 was to the PTO what the Bf 110 was to Europe, used in diverse roles and units throughout the war eventually being deployed as a bomber intercepter at which it excelled - one homeland defence Sentai downed 8 B29 Superforts on its first combat mission! Radar fitted night fighter versions were planned but did not quite reach production stage before the war's end.

Imagine not having the choice of a BF110 in any European / Desert / Eastern Front campaign...

The B25's B25D-2 or D-11 and the J-22 (solid nose J) are slated to be done as are the P38G and F. On the P38's we will probably need to suffer using the P38J pit.

The B25 J would be getting a little cosmetics as well.

Already made a New Guinea map (Port Moresby to Buna) 1:1 terrain with SRTM data...looks very nice. Have no airfields or objects...so a lot of work to go.

Like in a few mins...

Okie dokie.........well let me ask this;

Do we have any object makers here?

Static Objects needed:
Starter Trucks
Search Light Trucks
Camouflaged Barges
Camouflaged Junks
Camouflaged Freighters
Various Huts and Buildings
Various Huts and Buildings Camouflaged
Gun Battery Emplacements
Camouflaged Revetments
Drop Tank and Bomb Piles/Stacks
Radar installations
Destroyed Aircraft
Gardens
Destroyed Trees

Active Objects:
Aircraft with engines running yet unmoving
Various AAA guns/cannon with somewhat accurate bursts
Explosive Trees (Enemy Aircraft flys within 50 meters they go off like a bomb)

Old/New Aircraft......What I mean is, corrected aircraft as to ordinance:
Ki-61-I-Ko & Otsu choice of 1 or 2 drop tanks and Phosphorous bombs
Ki-43-II-Tropical with 2 drop tanks as a choice, 1 drop tank, 1 drop tank and 1 bomb, 2 bombs (30, 250Kg & Phosphorous)
B-25's and A-20's with Parademo's (100/250/500# bombs) and Kenny cocktails (phosphorous)

Static Aircraft:
Ki-21-IIb
Ki-45
Ki-48
Ki-49
Ki-51
Ki-54 & 57

Ai or better Flyable Aircraft:
Ki-21-IIb
Ki-45
Ki-48 (needed most)
Ki-49
Ki-51

The static objects alone would do wonders and many can be made from existing objects.

Billfish, i have requested Japanese planes right from the start,(even tried making them myself with disastrous results lol) the problem is this, when a plane maker goes to work, he builds what HE wants in the game.
this is fair enough and we are always greatfull for new planes.
A lot of the new planes, ie the spit versions and bf's etc are modeled from originals and so just have the tweaks to make them into different variants, to make a new plane from scratch takes months of work. now, the Japanese planes that are needed would have to be built from scratch, so would take a lot of work and time to complete such a project.

At the moment the Tainan group is working on a lot of new Japanese planes. If you can provide good information on the planes in your list, maybe they are interested in building some of them, they seem to be quite talented.

You should talk to the people of the Tainan group, they seem to be open for suggestions and will surely appreciate good information.

I don't know, maybe JapanCat or glitter11. You should ask in the "[WIP] Tainan AirPlane" topic (the link I have posted).
