I'm glad to see some people on this form have a sense of humor. Like I said, if someone want's to play ice-cream man in an aerial war sim, let them. I'll just sit and wonder why... That is until I drop a couple bombs on them.

the..."cockpit" Big Grin in the video looks different than what american's rendering looks like. look at the steering wheel. i dont think his is in the video.

i agree, but just think...the tracers from the truck (not really from a gun but just the man inside throwing them at you) can look like cones with your choice of flavor. cmon, its funny! but whats even more funny is the fact that its actually doable. Tongue

im not suggesting someone actually DO an icecream truck with icecream tracers...(although id giggle my arse off into the next century)... my point is i think there could be good historical potential for such a thing. kind of an offshoot. no different than some video i saw of an IL2 mod (not published on AAA but the vid was posted) of where you can exit the airplane, run around, and get back into the airplane. say at any given time during a campaign, where you get shot down, the "hidden objective" is finding a vehicle, getting into it, and returning to base. or something along those lines. or just for moviemaking, fine. dont ALLOW it into the server where certain people (like myself) might drive around in icecream trucks. either way, im not against it.

ROTFLMAO!

BTW, anyone remember the IL-2 movie "The Messenger" Pts. I and II? It would be fun to do that as a mission.

I just realized, there's a great historical mission here, attacking Rommel driving through the French countryside. One person gets to be Rommel's driver and tries to avoid letting Rommel be wounded. Now that would be an interesting historical mission with a possible alternate ending eh?.

I agree, it's an excellent mod to make an Il2 movie, Monty Dan made
something similar in a scene of his Pictures of War 2, but was a visual trick, not a mod.
I hope your mod will be soon available!
And those who don't like it are not obliged to download, like any other mod.
I didn't know The Messenger (thank you Boris the Spider) but it's funny

Soon, I am assuming. [panting] Lord, what times IL2 is coming to! It would be very funny if you used Air Start. I can totally see it. Who'd want dive bombers, when you had suicide flying cars (actually, there's an idea for a kamikaze mission Big Grin

I remember someone had done this with CFS3. They had used a planes program and modified it so it wouldnt take off but although it looked like a car the planes wings were still there but invisable and if you got too close to anything you would bloww up. Same thing if you tried to go up a hill, the invisable prop would hit the ground. Still it was neat to drive around and see things you dont from the air like buildings and troops.

Well done, a good mod!

Hope download link coming soon, despite so many reactionary Luddites
fearing anarchy coming with progress!
