When I get up to the point to Install mods ( I have NO MODS right now), I go to check if the game is in russian. I never get past that point because It goes up to 5% and then crashes.

Hello Spitfire,
Which mods are you trying to install? Which version of the IL-2 game are you using? You probably know from all the posts on this site that you need at least IL-2-1946 and the 4.08 patch to successfully install the Unified Installer version 1.1. There is a patch for the UI that will bring it up to UI 1.1.1.
Some people had the problem that after installing the UI, some of their career menues and ranks were in Russian. However, there is a fix for this on this site. Try this:

I was just about to post the same...
You need to give more info, enough so someone can go try and re-create your problem
What version of IL2 1946 do you have (4.07, 4.08 , 4.09)
What sort of mod activator did you install
How did you install it
What other files have you installed
Describe your steps a little (from you game works to, your game crashes at 5 %)
and anything else you can think of that might be relevant.
You need to give more info, enough so someone can go try and re-create your problem

I have v4.08
I've installed the Primary Mod Activator
I installed it Manually (Like on your Cirx tips)
The only other files I installed are the:
AC Installer
Wrapper.exe replacement
AAA 4.09 Patch
English Language fix
And the Spitfire Mk.I.

In the meantime, could you backtrack and redo the steps, but this time, check after each install of an item if your game will start

Hang ten, I think I've got this.
In your Main IL2 directory, check among the SFS files for the following 3 files:
fb_3do19.SFS
fb_3do20.SFS
fb_maps15.SFS
They came with the 4.09 update. If any or all of them are missing = 5% crash.
Let us know if this works.
