...Nah... You should start using a "real" photo editing program. It's just a plain fact that you can't make good skins in paint. No-one can. As I see the skin, you've bucket-filled some areas with green and written stuff on it, then copy-pasted some images. It's very much easier to work with layers, no matter are they in a template or have you made them yourself. I'm pretty sure that if you download GIMP and watch a few basic tutorials your skins will start to look cool and well-made.

No offense.

ummmmmm dude, i made it in photoshop, but i couldent save as 8-bit bitmap, so i ran it through paint, and saved it as 256 color bitmap, or 8-bit, and it turned from greyish white to light green.

I will reccomend to take a look at some of Mission4Today website forum tutorials on skinning tips.
One of the best things to do, if you are using Photoshop, is to download and install into
your photoshop a thing called "Bright". Its a great little gadget that turns your skin files into BMP
files ready to use in IL-2. It keeps ALL colors and details clear and will not distort anything after compression
of the artwork file. "Bright" is Best!
At the moment I don´t have a link to that gadget, but its available at Mission4Today and also at Simmerspaintshop,
and also where good skinner art stuff is often found at. Try Bright! You will be glad you did!

Here you go, mate, I found this for you... the essentials guide for skinners Big Grin

Otherwise, simply convert your finished skin from "RGB" to "Indexed color" before saving it as .bmp. It works good enough for me.
