Special Request: Italian Air Force Fighters Campaign
#16

Well, Andreas Fighter campaign kind of took the wind out of my sail, but maybe I will have a go after all.

Andreas is only using the GREAT (but also a bit flawed, airfield-wise) Italy-Greece-Africa map, but I intend, as mentioned, to use many more maps. Map-wise the world is our oyster, especially if we get that Anzio map.

And I actually have a half-finished SCW Italian campaign, using the Italy map.

Heck, I will go on! It will be my humble way of repaying something to a community that has given me so much fun!

Sorry, I didn't found the ReadMe file in the Abbysinia Campaign, I also tried even more to make it work but I never managed to get it up and running. Sad

The only thing I found for a ReadMe was just a small NotePad that wasn't of any help. Sad

So, now I need help on this one.

Hope you downloaded this one - http://mission4today.com/index.php?name ... mirror=232

It contains links to MODs that are essential to get it running.... It will not run without them. Install tehm first and then try, try, try again. I am sure it will work one day, all you need is enough perseverance. (The Install itself requires some skills, though...)

So that explains my problem, I didn't had those mods ( Infantry, Flags, East-African Map, Hangar and more Nations ) I guess I'll have to install them all before I can start the real job, but I couldn't download the Other Nations mod, the link was removed, but is the "Other Nations" mod necessary to get it working properly ?? :?

Fdeldre!

Yes, I would like to see that Africa template.

Also, if you would help in playtesting that would be great. Or any suggestions regarding the above mentioned structure of the campaign are also welcomed!

Download "Forgotten Countries" MOD which comprises "Other nations", it should be OK.

Just my 2 cent: to make a real improvement in Italian campaigns we need:
- maps: NW (with South Sardinia) and NE africa (with Rodi): they are important for Regia actions.
- aircrafts: fly an Italian campaign without SM79s is like fly as British without Spitfires. No matter if we fly as fighter or bomber, this plane is necessary. Moreover, Re2001/2 are not essential, but very useful for historical reasons.

Yes, that would of course be ideal. But until then I will try and make do with what we have, which isn't too bad. Before we got the Cant all Italian campaigns felt a bit strange, but now at least we have a bomber!

And all the new maps opens up a whole new range of possibilities.

Regarding my own project: the segment on the War on Greece is moving towards completion. I think I will add a few Crete missions in the end, just to be able to use the fantastic new map over Crete.

I have already reported on this side that I have create a new set of missions in the Libyan theater with Italian fighters , Macchi 200 and 202. Twentyone missions during 21 consecutive days in July 1941 using the map JV69_LYBIA_N-E/JV69_M. Much laden with static objects and vehicles in motion and with all that the developers of this MODS have created up til now. You will find it on the Mission4today website at this Link :

Stanislao: Would this campaign be the one where I often escort the Alcione in the Meditteranean Sea ?? I did tried out the one about such thing ( the Alcione campaign from an Italian Fighter's perspective, but it had somewhat a serious bug making the game to crash in my case, I had to remove it, and it also had 21 episodes I think.

I just want to be on the safe side, I did download it so far but I have yet to install it, and I'd gladly do so if I'd be sure not to have such bug again. :?

"Tripoli bel suol d'amore" is a package of missions still in beta, be refined, were are included many of the new options offered by this site. Some are totally inert, meaning that do not alter the basic structure of the play, others are generating conflicts in those who did not in use. Try adding a mission at a time in the folder "single" in a file like "my mission" and see if each one is compatible with your downloads.

Oh no !! Sad

I had already installed it, oh well, I hope by just taking down the missions will be good enough to prevent the bug from causing trouble. :?
