I agree with your request for the He112B - this would be nice for the Romanians. I am also a fan of the Fw187 but since only a handful were produced this one would be limited to what-if campaigns and I would argue that other, more numerous types should be added to the game first. The Me309 was historically a competitor to the Fw190D. Under testing the Me309 was found to be inferior to the Fw190D in most respects and so the Fw190D was the one that got built. An Me609 (twin Me309 a la F-82) might be an interesting 1946 project. I'm not sure why we would need a Ki-61 II when it is just a Ki100 with a different designation. We have the Ki100 already. I agree that some additional Ki100 variants would be nice.

Ki-61 II had an inline Ha-140 engine with 1500HP. After the factory producing these was destroyed by a B-29s, they had to install a new engine, and a Ha-112 radial was chosen. This new combination was designated the Ki-100. We don't have the Ki-61-II in the sim yet.

Ki-61-II-kai (the bubble canopy version):

However, more than Ki-61-II I'd like to see Ki-61-I-Tei, which was the ultimate version with Ha-40 engine and was a typical late war Ki-61 (and we lack this one as well). It had a similar weapon configuration to Ki-100, and was otherwise roughly similar to Ki-61-I-Otsu in appearance and performance, only the nose was elongated for 190cm to allow bigger ammunition storage for nose cannons.

Ahh, I am no expert on Japanese aircraft. The original post led me to believe the difference was in a designation. Obviously there is a case for the Ki-61-II if it is significantly different than either a Ki-61-I or a Ki-100.

I'm think there was a He112 in the pipeline some time back - or it may have been a hack - not quite sure ?

All... great suggestions.
I would personally love to see the Heinkel 115 C get into the sim.
A Maritime aircraft designed in the mid to late thirties that soldiered on until the wars end, flying recon duty, equipt as well with torpedos...It sunk a lot of shipping, and even operated during the Battle of Britain on the Channel plucking German flyers out of the drink.
Some might say,"Hey that would be fun to shoot down as well" .I think it would be a great addon.

...sure though the He-115 is scheduled to ship with SoW. So it might be a rather short-lived experience/credit for modders and users. In the end it's not the least sophisticated A/C to model as judged by a newbie.

Not necessarily. Not everyone has a computer capable of running SoW. Like me. I'll welcome a He115 for IL2 with open arms, and for that matter, any other type too.
