I dont have the game (I had it but the cd is too scratched to work anymore) and I plan on downloading it from D2D.

Should I download the 1946 version ?
What else should I buy from d2d?

After I get all the games, which mods should I install (I would like better sounds and graphics if possible).

you need 1946 to have mods work

You need to buy IL-2 1946
Patch to v4.08 using official UBI patches ---- Do not patch to v4.09

Then use the Unified Installer as per link in the post above.

Im downloading from D2d , hopefully it doesnt patch to the latest automaticaly. If it does patch to 409 am I out of luck?
