Freezes in FMB
#1

Hello people, I have a big, BIG problem:

After a reinstall of windows I reinstalled Il-2, UI 1.1.1 which I "back-uped" and downloaded the same planes I used to have.
The thing is that now everytime I use the FMB my PC freezes and the sound loops, this happens only when I'm playing the mission or in the 3D map. This freezes thing happened before, but it was just for a second or two and it wasn't very often. After those seconds everything worked without problems.
But now it doesn't stop until I hit the power button, I can't even press Alt+Tab or Ctrl+Alt+Del, it just stays there.

At first I though it was a graphic problem, but I can play for hours in QMB withot any inconvenience, haven't tested in MP (I hope that it works like in QMB) yet.

Anybody have an idea of what could be causing this?

I didn't try swiching to 4.09m without mods, I'm going to try this now. I'll update this post with the results.

Thanks in advance.

I really dont have any idea.
You said you just reinstalled Windows, Correct.
Then the first thing I would do is make sure you have ALL YOUR WINDOWS UPDATES.
I was have problems and that fixed mine.

Weird... Without mods the game works fine (but I'm too used to them, so I'm not eager to play vanilla Il-2), or at least it takes more time to crash.

After testing, waiting and searching for an error message I got this:
If I restart the PC everything is fine again and I only get this while paying in FMB, a mission, campaing or in MP. Not in QMB or seeing a track. I get this after being playing for half an hour or less if I change the view of the planes (I mean, if I go from one point of the map to another far away).

I did a reinstall of the drivers (going in safe mode, deleting the olds .dlls and then reinstalling) but to without different results. I plug more coolers in the PC, but still, the same.
I downloaded modificated drivers (which were done to solve this problem) but then again, the game freezes and then crash (after a long time) saying that the drivers had an error.

If it's useful my PC is this one:
ASUS P5VDC-X
Intel Pentium 4 3Ghz
GeForce 6200 256MB
1GB DDR2

I installed the XP updates and I haven't had this problem before, with any game. I'm going to redownload UI 1.1 to see if that solves the problem (which, and I'll install another game (yeap, I only have Il-2, so you can guess with is this problem so painfull) to see if I get the error with it too.

EDIT: Yep, Sniper Elite also crash and/or reboots the PC.

F*ck.
