Modding in-game A/C Question
#1

I was wondering if there is a way to gain access to the planes that came with the game for Moding. I am having to relearn gmax and I now have time on my hands and I want to get these planes that I am working on out before I my extra time on hand expires on me. I have already read the rules and what i am to do before I advertse the download and agree with them 100%. I am not working on any planes listed in the list of WIP's and have researched throughout the AAA website before construction, nor am I working on any planes that are avaible for downloads anywhere.

I am looking to do some cosmetic and performance variations work on planes that came with 1946 to start with as they really were in the day.

I entend them to be a new flight model too

Um... I don't know what you mean by "gain access to," but I think you mean edit planes already in the game. I'm no expert on the subject, but I think you have posted in the wrong section of the fourms.

I'm wanting to do a P-40F model with a new FM. I was going to see if I could use the P-40E model for my plane to start with on making the F model. I have already started the basics on it, but I had thought that if I could use the model from the game, I could get a really good jump start on this and other versions that the game doesnt have like a B-24D, P-40N, and other models of choice.

I do realize that the moders here have been working hard on planes and I want to do what I can to help out due to the high demand. But I also want to be able to do one first and see if people around here like it and use them first before I go making all these aircraft and not be able to have others download.

As for "Tweaking" planes to have more ammo and fly at mach 10, I frown upon that as well That's not how the plane was origionally designed. The only tweaking I'll be doing is for a plane of the same model (P-40), different viarant (F)(N), and for a new slot FM only. I dont really like replacing one plane into another.

Thank you Friction for your input.

Your best bet is to PM the modders directly. No Modder is going to post a "How-To" guide for accessing/creating/editing FM's, DM's etc. Modding planes is a very closely guarded secret and known only to a select few so as to not have people trying to mod existing planes and causing a lot of problems on the servers.

This topic needs to be locked.

I wasn't trying to ask if there was a how to, I was asking if it is possible to use the in game models for moding. I dont blame you for seeing that it might be a way to cheat on line games. I was just looking to maybe being pointed into the right direction.

I request that this topic be removed before it adds fuels the fire to come. (As it usually does)

If anyone has any direction to point me in, please PM me instead.

no, hang on there. Even though changing fms and dms is a whooooole other topic and skillset (and yes, AAA does not allow discussion of this), extracting the meshes from the game for 3d work is no big secret at all.

What u want to get into is as app called SFS extractor, which is here somewhere. In fact, doing what you asked is covered in a lot of places and tutorials. I would seriously suggest finding and reading EVERYTHING before asking for help. Not to be nasty, but you have to meet these guys at least halfway.

Good Luck!

Thank you. I looked but I guess I might have missed that one in there. I'll look again, and again, and again. you have answered my question I had. Yes, it is possible to mod in game planes and I can find what I need here in this site.

Thanks again for pointing me which way to go and look.
