i dont know wat i did but i installed the 4.09 beata patch to see if some maps would work. But when i ran the game it stoped working when it loaded to 95%

did you have a clean install (i.e. no mods)?
did you patch it to 4.08 upfront?

i am not sure what happens when you clobber it over a modded game... i wouldn't suggest doing it and if this is your case - you maybe ruined the installation.

I don't think this would screw the installation.
Just make sure that if you have some mods that files required for them to work should be in place where it should be.
For example if you have some plans then all ini'es for ex air.ini should be properly filed and putted in corresponding places.
If you have changed air ini then you have to make sure that planes are installed in mods folders and its not just air ini.
Also if you use 6DOF_V.2 make sure that files are in MODS folder and il2fb.exe is patched also, and not like only exe is patched or only files are in folder.
Make sure you have Wrapper.dll and didn't installed this mg.snd.dlls which is obviously can :lol: the whole installation.

Where did you install the 4.09Beta over? Il2:1946+4.08m (clean), IL2:1946+soundmod or IL2:1946+UI?

i installed it over a moded game. It was UI1.1 but it kept crashing almost at the end of the dl where it was dl the silverplate

1) You had a game and it was 4.08?
2)it was modded and it worked?
3)you updated it to 4.09 with a download from AAA or from official UBI?
4) you bought your game from store on DVD, or bought from internet on download?

2)yes but the ui stoped dl so i only got half the pack.
3)i updated the game to 4.09 after the UI 1.1 to see if some maps needed 4.09 to work.
4) i bought the DVD-ROM from Amazon (IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 The Signature Collection).

read question 3 carefully. WHERE did you get the 4.09 upgrade, for here or from UBi?

Also, be clear, after yo installed half your pack of UI on your 4.08, the game DID WORK , right?

Answer these and we'll know exactly whats wrong.

i got the 4.09 from mission for today from official game patches form. Official UBI i gues.

and the game worked after i installed the UI1.1

Well, that a real simple fix then. Either download the AAA 4.09 upgrade for mods, which is here

and use that over your 4.09, or as a fresh upgrade from 4.08, or if you want to shortcut all of that crp, download this

( u will need 7zip to open it) and simply take the "files.sfs" file from it, and replace the one in your 4.09 game with it.
