The grid which is visible when you zoom into the map is in kilometres and metres. As you move the cursor the coordinates in metres are given at the bottom of the screen.

Alternatively, select a slow aircraft like a storch and set the speed to 100kmh. Then place two waypoints and drag them apart till they reach 1 hour flight time.
This is 100km. 30 minutes flight time = 50 km. 15 min =25km.

A bit more simple maths and you can measure any distance
