looks good to me but I would get more USB's cause they are so usefull. On my PC I have 10 USB 2.0 ports but thats just me and the fact that printers, monitors, scanners are all USB 2.0 now-a-days. So anyway I think that your PC will run IL-2 in perfect mode easy! Good luck getting it!

Hey Abel, I have that same processor at the moment, and whilst the stock 2.5ghz speed isn't anything to shout about it does overclock really well - and easily too. I currently have mine running at 3.0Ghz and completely stable, and If it were fitted with a different cpu cooler 3.5GHz is definately possible.

I see you live in the uk, I bought the base of my system - processor, motherboard and ram from awd-it.com as a bundle, they installed the processor for me and tested everything to make sure there were no problems (which there were, the motherboard was faulty, so they replaced it with a new one) and I received it all in perfect working order - that bundle cost me about

I'd look for something a little better than a 9500GT video card. It's ok, but I think even an 8800GT is better.

abel if you arent too tight on money i would suggest spending about ten bucks more for a 9600gt, much better performance in many games compared to the 9500. you wouldnt regret that.

just had a quick look at your specs. You really don't need both optical drives - the re-writer will do everything you need. Also unless you overclock the CPU past 3.3Ghz you are good on the stock cooler which comes with the CPU (thats the limit I've found in my system anyway, and I'm not entirely sure its a heat issue) With those taken off the list you could probably put that money into the either the motherboard or graphics card.

And some might disagree, but the time of the floppy drive is long since past. The only time now that you would ever need one would be when installing windows - and only then if you needed scsi, raid or sata drivers. Which you won't with Windows SP3 as it already includes sata drivers, and you don't need scsi or raid - another saving you can spend elsewhere.

Oh yeah, another thought - are you building this into a case you already have? if so you could avoid buying new drives completely and use the one you have now, If not you'll need to budget for a case as well

On the sound card point, I personally would only bother buying an additional PCI card IF you have a surround sound system, otherwise you really won't get the best out of it - and onboard sound now is really quite good, you'll only notice the difference if you have a sound system which is of a high standard and 5.1.

just my thoughts Smile
