Great job, I modeled one of these for SDOE once,,,very fun aircraft.

You have some light issues with the left aileron and the wheel struts, take it up when the sun is on the horizon and you will see the problems.

@gerax44: thx for your entries for the waepons_ru.properties! When i choose the 4x25p loadout, i have only 2 bombs under the wings. Is there something wrong with the loadout? Or is it ok?

Try it and you will see that the bomb loadout has a very surprising behaviour.
I was surprised too: you can only see two bombs, but when you drop them,
they are released as pairs, first the bombs from under the left wing, then the second pair.
Use your external view and you can watch it....

Another hint for the users of this mod:
As default there is a Japanese Pilot in the plane
(maybe because this plane was also used by Chinese and Philippine Airforce):


For my own use I have replaced him with an US-Pilot

by editing the file:
\MODS\P-26\3do\Plane\P-26(Multi1)\pilot1.mat

and replacing the line:
TextureName ..\Textures\Ja02.tga

with this lines:
; TextureName ..\Textures\Ja02.tga
TextureName ..\Textures\pilotA.tga

Attention: I have installed the "NEW Default pilot skins" from vpmedia wich you find here:
viewtopic.php?t=2567&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=elephant&start=0
(I'm not sure but I think that you need this Mod with this files to replace the pilot
without getting troubles) where I choosed one of the US-Pilot within the folder:
MODS\PILOTS\3do\plane\Textures

Hope this will help you if you also want to change the default pilot.
But dont forget, if you are not experienced make this very carefully ... :wink:

I belieave the reason its a japanese pilot on default is its really a A5M4 in desquise. :wink:

i followed all the directions carefully, but the P-26 won't show up on my plane list on QMB. i tried reinstalling it several times but it still won't show up. i use vista, so is that a problem? thanks

Did you open the folder " P26" to find the folder " P-26 " ? Then add the text to you files? I have vista and had no problem.

Is it using the A5M FM?


BTW, 12 P-26 aircraft were painted flat black and used as a night fighter squadron at Pearl Harbor during the first months of WW2. They never saw action, however, even during the one night attack on Pearl (Japanese code name "Operation K" ) by H8K Emilys on March 4 1941. They were too slow to catch the Emilys in any case.

Also tho I noticed that there is glass destruction where should be open air after damage. I guess instead of glass the pilot may have been injured or possibly killed.



Not sure if that would be fixed or not. Not that important really just a little distracting :???:

Loving it though- great little plane. Was balancing it near stall speed on the rudder around 70 mph at angels 13.

ref the bombloads, ie dropping in pairs, that is the same behavior as the ki-27. Not that important really & will probably be fixed in future, same with glass damage i suppose. :wink:

Tested the mod, works nicely

Reason why it does not need a new buttons files is cause its running off the KI-27's FM

Do a QMB and fly over the enemy and you shall see the icon. As long the Icons are on :wink:

As AI aircraft in QMB, it has a Ki-27 icon, so no prizes for guessing the flight model you've used :wink:

I thought quality was on the rise, no offense to the mod maker but this should really be in the WIP/Beta section, no FM of it's own, shows icons of a different plane, has bullet holes in thin air? Please move this to Beta until the bugs are fixed and it has it's own FM, we have enough AC released with their own new model and an FM with a cockpit that we really need to start keeping everything with a borrowed FM and cockpit in the beta section, lets step it up at AAA.
