F-84G Skin Contest

a) This is a simple quiz to determine what skins will be added as default in the Thunderjet MOD.
b) The plane needs a Generic bare metal USAF skin (without numbers) and a bare metal no markins skin.
c) You can put pics and links here.
d) You have 30 days to make it.
e) You can use 24bits colour skin using the skin1o.tgb file (rename it tga). This file is at MODS\F84G ThunderJet\3DO\Plane\F84G\summer.

do you have one that doesn't have the acft ID markings on it? They tend to get in the way when making a template.

use this path - F84G ThunderJet/3DO/plane/f84G/summer/skin1o.tgb
rename to skin1o.tga, that is your unmarked template

Bah! Of all the times to have a crash, now is it? Anyone have a decent recipie for a quick metal texture? I just lost 4 hours of work.

EDIT: Nevermind. ah Photoshop tutorials...

I've been having problems with that as well. From what I can tell, most of the F-84's internals were yellow, but I'm having trouble finding good shots of them. I think we'll have to completely rebuild the lines and rivets too.

Take care the lines and rivets of the damage parts. Look at the damage2.tga file to see it.

I was trying that until I found that they don't even come close. I have a four view complete with the majority of panels but they won't line up properly with the current setup. so I figured I'll just concentrate on the internals until someone comes up with a good working template.

Took a look at damage2o.tga. While I've never built a full template before and it's a daunting task, I'd like to try and have a go at it. I already have a very basic "metal" scheme. The panel lines, according to my 3-view, really need that adjusting. I have absolutely no idea how long it will take though. I've never done it before and the 3-view doesn't exactly match up with the skin.

Maybe we should all pitch in and divvy up the work for certain parts? We could get more done with better quality if we all work together. US_Grant said he was working on internals, Raptor's already got a UV map ready. I can work on panel lines (and with that, make adjustments to damage2o.tga). Should we at least try? We can meet on AAA TS to discuss it.

i've got baremetal done already... erm also the weathering is starting to get done, anti-glare is done. If you guys want to discuss this together I'll send u all an ip to join on teamspeak. I'd rather stay away from the AAA one.
