once Mr Jolly left
#16

to be honest, I also would prefer that two sites get together and have only one buttons.

and I actually have trouble as i have no P-51 sounds when using the otherwise perfect SAS buttons.

This is the key file, that everyone wants to keep secret so it is the treasure of a few chosen. this brings some responsibility to the user group as such.
at least IMO.

EDit: thanks Deutschmark. I hoped for such words.

I saw many good mods and modders go away from AAA because of you call "discipline". One of these was the seafury, which fortunately found homes in another community. I think that domination is a better word than discipline for the previous policy.

Guys, please don't turn this into a flame war. I don't want to have to lock this topic.

anybody saw Life of Brian? :-?

Those quarrels are nicely depicted in that movie

Creativity and discipline are difficult to mix but a way has to be found. I fully agree with some posts that it is getting out of hand. One of the great things with Il2 is the possibility to fly together on the net. Up to now, this worked out just fine with all the switch functions ( CTR2/ MODS, 6-Dof/, 4.09 with/without mods).

Has anybody tried to fly with those SAS buttons on the net? It is just a mess... Having installed some of the new planes I experienced similar problems (why I don't know as they should have a new slot)...

Even more frightening are the differences in FM if you switch from AAA buttons to SAS buttons....

On the long run, this might break up this community. Cry

The message is : WORK TOGETHER!

And keep up the quality we were used to with Mr Jolly....no new mod half finished with a bunch of patches coming out every two days...otherwise those who are not as computer savy as you are will simple give up ( starting to play more and more ROF which has a nice FM but still too many flaws in its user interface).

Cheers,

Eckhart :fight: Confusedhoot: [rant] :friends:

PERSONALLY, I'm glad he's gone. I think we can rally around the guys like Magpie and Flakkitten and the like and build this modding empire up.

What a stupid comment. I trust that your intentions are good, but for someone who has a been a member for 15 days I can't see where you are basing those comments on. Magpie and co do an excellent job, but it's because of Jolly that they do.

Salute ALL hi ;-)

@ Philip ed, all are entitled to their opinion.
But lets enlighten this person on the facts.
@ European Snake, when the coed to IL2 was broken the community still did not have
Any tools to work within the game, most started working with a hex editor and if
You ever worked with one of them its like pulling teeth to get anything to work and
A nightmare to get to know how to use it, it was Mr Jolly that went on the look for
Programmers to make good tools so that modders could do what they are doing now
Mr. Jolly even paid for some of the tools to be made then freely offered them on this
Site to the whole IL2 community, this was only a short 2 years ago, so if it was not for
This person Mr. Jolly the modding in IL2 may still be in the dark ages and people like
Magpie, Flakiten, SAS, myself and others that have come to AAA and downloaded
Them tools to go off and do what they/ we do in making new mods for IL2 owes a big
Thank you to him for getting it all started and giving it all out to anyone that wants it.
Now you know

I do agree with fly, but then I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion. Perhaps we are both biased... Big Grin

I hope that after reflection Mr. Jolly can come back to AAA and work with ALL the various mod teams around the world to create an unified installation system that works with all mod packs. The first steps are already being taken with the common button system, I hope a true common file structure and mod system can be achieved for the benefit of all IL-2 flyers.

Thanks to Mr. Jolly and those who pioneered IL-2 modding and here's hoping that with a new unified community the future can only be better.

Donations with held pending.

I loaded the Sea Fury as directed with no issues what so ever.. what problems were you having installing it properly? It seemed VERY simple and I am no modding guy by any means.
