Has anyone been able to add new maps to DCG?
#1

I'm wondering if anyone has had any success in this area. I would like to be able to run the new slot map in DCG, but I do not know how to add it to the DCG files or what else needs to go along with it. Any "experts" out there?

I actually downloaded and installed that one, but when I went to run it the map crashed, hence my post here.

I am by no means an expert.

But I do know that to add a new map to dcg you need to create a .rls file to tell trains where the tracks are, .rds file for vehicles to follow the roads, and another file (cant remember what its called) so ships hav a route to follow.

Check out tailspins guide in the documentation section on the dcg site. This will get you started.

there are alot of things you have to get right in order to add maps to DCG, and yes, there are several DCG campaigns that are out now with new maps.

It might be a simple typo, or maybe you are missing a file type. I don't know how to help until I know more about what you made and are trying to do.

You have to add your new data to the "maps.dcg" file. It may be that DCG can't load your new map because DCG can't find it.

Basically, DCG is only looking through default maps. You basically have to add your map to the DCG list just like you added the new map in game.

Remember, you modded IL2 1946, you have to update or "MOD" DCG to accept the new changes. DCG was made pre-mods, so all data in it is only for stock. All new planes, maps and everything else must be added for it to work.
