I'm trying to get some ideas on my next dogfight matchup. The first one was P-26 vs I-153.
This is for a purely fictional campaign so things don't have to be so historically correct. I want to use any planes made before 1939.

I'm debating on using MS-406 vs Fiat G-50. I'm not a fan of the G-50 though and not sure if it's a fair matchup. I might replace G-50 with P-11.
I will be doing Bf109 vs I-16.

I like for the planes to be fairly even in terms of abilities so that one does not dominate the other. Campaigns will be made for red and blue sides. If you have an idea for a good matchup then voice your opinion here.

First the P26 will not stand a chance with the I-153.
Good match ups that come to mind are.
Blues CR-42 , Hs 123,the new HE51C-1,J8A.
Red I-15 BIS,I-15-M22, I-16-type 5.In some places the CR-42 was used by both sides.also use the GLADS they are good for both sides also.
As for bombing the CR42, I-16 , P11,I-15 , He51C-1 , and use the U-2VS for both sides.
The Fiat 50 is a good plane and a good match for the I-16 .
Throw in a few TB-3 they are always fun.
As for the BF-109 try the 109B model.
I play in a server where we have I-153M they shoot 109E down a lot.
I love the I-153 but it is a pure KILLER if you know how to fly it.

It may not be a good matchup online but offline it seems to be a good match. I guess it depends on the human pilot in P-26 vs. A/I I-153. The missions I've made for this matchup are really equal and when I'm in the P-26 it's a real challenge (because the I-153 is better) but it is possible to beat the I-153s.
