Ghost aircrafts bug
#1

Hi everybody,

I've been experiencing what appears to be a graphics problem for some time now. I am running IL2-1946 with Sound Mod Activator .93 and sometimes a couple of seconds after starting a mission all aircrafts dissappear, remaining only their shadows on the ground. Here is a screen capture:

When I press "ESC" to go back to the menu I get some sort of "blue menu" :

After "ESCaping" back and forth several times, normally the planes would appear again and everything goes back to normal. Often they would not and I have to restart the game.

This happens with the default maps only.

Any ideas?

Best Regards,

JC

Well there's two culprits but i am not sure which one causes this but i fixed both at once and it fixed it. Ok first what i think probibly 87% of this is a graphical overload usaully caused by modded maps that use high textures or that are using the wrong version example: map meant for 4.09b1 or 4.08m. There is usaully no loading problem because this would only happen in the QMB or Online. The main idea is a graphical overload due switching veiws of aircraft really fast at start at start. The other one is what i beleive to be an incompatibility with the moving dogfight sever mods and installing or overlapping with updates with A.I. Mod 3.0 or Fireballs carrier takeoff mod, catapult etc. This used to happen to me but i whwn i fixed these or avoided these i haven't ever noticed this :???: But i hope you fix this m8Smile  and if not please feel free to PM me Big Grin .

On my computer I found the culprit to be "Bender's High Res Clouds". When I Uninstall this mod and resume using "Flushy's" cloud mod I cease to have this problem. I only experience this problem when selecting the hazy weather option, other than that I have little to no problems even though I run the 4.85 buttons with 0.93 sound version. Benders clouds are so beautiful that I can live with this glitch.
